Blinking access light and "Busy" sign when attempt to take photo

After inserting replacement CompactFlash card the access light blinks and the "busy" signal comes up. This card has been used before and therefore I am sure it is OK as I have two cards and the same problem is experienced with both. Also when I attempt to download photos onto my PC the "busy" signal comes up and I get the message"another programme is using my camera".

It's driving me mad

Try first resetting the camera settings and formatting the flash card using the option from the menu, that will correct the problem...

If you have a compact flash slot on your computer, put the card in and format it,then put it back in the camera and that should fix it.If you dont have the slot, see if the camera will allow formatting

The Busy light is blinking when I'm tying to download pictures onto PC, how can I fix this?

Did you first install the software on the computer, before you connected the camera to the USB connector? It is needed, so the computer knows what to say to the camera. Only then the camera can communicate with the computer.
Software, came on a cd with the camera, or they gave you a link where to download the software.

Camera wont switch on praktica dcz 8 lm busy light comes on 3 seconds then off and nothing after that

took the memory card out and then turn on the camera. Now see the busy keep coming or its gone. If not showing busy any more then format the memory card and then try to turn on the camera with inserting the memory card. Thanks.

Why does it says "busy"

The reason it says 'busy' is because the camera is writing your image to the SD card. Your camera is perfectly fine as-is, but if you'd like to speed up the wait, you can buy a faster SD card.

Hope that helps!

My Canon EOS 1000D wont take photos, viewfinder flashes busy

Maybe you drop your battery and they have electronic components inside that could be spoiled, if is that the case, try to change the battery, it appeares to me that the ammount of current the battery is sending to the component is very low even thoe it seems to be fully charged that's why the camera is unable to display anything and the "busy" warning is blinking all the time, I hope you find this usefull.

Camera - Memory Card Error

try formating the memory card on PC and then insert it in the camera and reinitialize.
it will work fine (unless you're using a huge size memory that the camera is not compatible with)

Blinking red indicator light

Hey pollyannac,
The red blinking light probably means either the flash is recharging, or the camera buffer is full and it is writing files to your memory card which the lcd monitor should read Busy while the camera is writing the files. If it is the flash recharging then you could try using more powerful batteries such as the Canon NiMH AA batteries. If the problem ends up being the camera is writing images to the memory card you could try getting a memory card that has a high write speed. These memory card are usually more expensive, but in my opinion well worth it. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

I posted with the same problem. I was reading the software guide that came with my camera. I ended up going to the menu on the camera and setting the camera's communication. It worked! I can now upload my pictures to my computer again.

This is not a direct solution, but I find that my image transfers are much faster when I pull out the CompactFlash card and put it in a card reader to pull the imagery off.

With respect to the actual problem, try "rebooting" your camera (switch off, then on) and/or reseating the USB connector.
