Dewalt framer acts like the safety isn't pushing the trigger far enough for the plunger air leaks out @the trigger until u let off. Whats wrong?

The trigger valve has failed, replace the orings that are made of vinyl within the valve or replace with new. Also check within the nailer for failed vinyl rings. There could be at least 5 bad orings. The bad orings will be yellow in color and feel putty-like. The black buna rings are usually ok.

My Hitachi NV45AB is leaking air from the trigger air valve. The gun still works if I just keep the trigger depressed and just smack the tip into the shingle.

Remove the 3mm roll pin holding the trigger in place and set aside the trigger plunger (white plastic plunger should have an oring on groove). Remove the fitting that holds the trigger plunger and replace vinyl ball #875645 or check for debris under ball. Good luck with your repair.

Hitatchi nv45b2 trigger leaking

Air leaking around the trigger area could be caused by vinyl ball / gasket under trigger valve bushing or orings within the gun. Easy test, remove nails and connect air (assuming that air is now leaking around the trigger area). Depressing the trigger stops the leak, replace vinyl ball. Depressing trigger does not stop leak, move plunger b (plunger B, small shaft under bubber bushing next to the trigger valve) with your finger in then out to determine if air leak changes tone. If air leak changes sound or tone, then air is leaking past orings of the cylinder guide and/or cylinder plate and/ or the cylinder itself is scratched by debris where the orings make contact. Pull out the cylinder and examine the contact areas. If scratched, use 300 grit paper to smooth, if smooth, however, suspect the orings of cylinder guide (or cylinder guide is cracked). The cylinder guide is difficult to remove and install without causing damage to guide or cutting new orings when installing. Do not remove the guide unless all the other options have been checked. One last bit if information, I have noticed that some guns will leak air if the orings on the feeder piston do not fit snuggly. Make sure that leaking sound is not coming from feeder area (remove the basket and feeder/feeder pin/spring and pull out the feed piston, making sure that the largest oring is making good contact within the cylinder). Good luck with repair.

Air leaks around trigger when it is squeezed

If you do not have a parts list for your gun, look that the page below for reference:

http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/hitachi/nr83a2

Reference #66 is the trigger plunger and #67 is the oring seal.

Leak when you press trigger is most likely due to bad or missing oring on the trigger plunger (white plastic pin under trigger). Remove the roll pin (3mm) holding the trigger and remove the plunger. Replace the oring as needed. If you would like to use generic part. Lowes oring #60 sold in the plumbing department (small package of 10 orings about $2) works fine. Good luck

Leak air for the trigger

Could be leaking from trigger or in front of trigger at plunger. Spray soapy water on area and determing exact leak. If from trigger pin, remove pin holding metal trigger (3mm roll pin) and check white plastic plunger for oring on groove. If oring is in place then check vinyl ball inside trigger valve bushing. Replace as needed. If leak is in front of trigger at black boot, remove head and replace oring on outer part of cylinder plate (donut shaped plate at top). Good luck

NRA833AA model. air is leaking out of trigger valve & will not fire. require manual to check operation.

Here is a link to hitachi web site listing for your gun. Look at the bottom of the page for pdf files of parts lists and manual.
http://www.hitachipowertools.com/store_item.php?iID=154&arrPath=1,9,43,p154,

There are two areas around trigger that can leak air. Spray soapy water on trigger stem and/or plunger valve. If leak is at trigger stem check vinyl ball. If leak is at plunger valve, most likely worn or broken oring inside of gun. Remove head and pull outer ring to reveal two orings. A worn outer oring will cause leak at plunger. If orings are ok on outer ring, pull cylinder and check for scratches where orings contact. If scratched, sand with 400 grit paper untill smooth and repack gun with oring kit. Good luck.

Air leaking out of the trigger area, no pressure at all

Your nailer uses a trigger valve (part # tva6 cost about $20) and is sold at www.bostitch.com or generic valves sold on ebay . If you have a source for orings, you could try to repair the valve. Remove the roll pin that holds the trigger to expose the tva6 valve. There are roll pin/pins that hold the valve in just above the valve in the body. Remove these pins and apply air pressure to gun to pop-out the valve. Use caution when you do this. Remove nails, lower pressure to gun and use glove or rag to catch valve because it could come out with force. With tva6 valve in hand remove two pins that hold valve together and remove inner plunger. The middle oring on plunger is cause of leak. Try using an oring about same size as the broken seat. It must fit pretty tight to work. If you had a small leak it could be that the firing pin orings fit too loose or just too worn. Use silicone lube or oring lube on the orings and the valve port. Good Luck on your repair and email if you have other questions.

I just rebuilt the nail gun with all new o-rings and gaskets and when I put the air to it air actually blows the rubber boot off the plunger on the trigger assy.

I am assuming that the boot is blown off when your fire the nailer. This is caused by a loose/worn plunger and valve. If the plunger moves from side to side too much air will flow past the valve and blow off the boot. Most used hitachi nailers will blow this boot. Only way to fix is replace one or both parts. If air leaks past the boot immediately when you connect to air, check oring on plunger A (part# 874-820) or outer orings on cylinder guide and cylinder plate. These outer orings are easy cut while inserting these parts into cylinder. Check orings for nicks. Good luck and post again if you have more questions.

Hitachi NR83A air leak

Most all Hitachi nailers that use the plunger style of firing/safety mech will leak air past plunger (part #877-339) when firing, however should not leak when connected to air or resting. If air is leaking past plunger when connnected to air check following:
Remove head to reveal cylinder plate (part#877-318). Remove plate and check outer oring for nicks or broken. If nicked or broken, replace and problem solved. If in good condition, remove cylinder guide (part #877-310) and check two outer orings for nick /cut. Use caution when removing/installing cylinder guide. It is easy to pinch orings when installing causing air leak at plunger. If orings are in good shape then problem is warped body of gun not allowing outer orings to seal. To check for warped body, use the cylinder plate as a guage by lowering it into the area where the cylinder guide rests. Good Luck with your repair.
