Mayhavegotten a surge when power went off check to make sure you get power voltage and mash contacts with a stick or something non conductive check to see if the capacitor is swollen

I have a Ben. DV 3250 LCD TV I had a power outage when the power came back on My TV did not want to work

Try unplugging it for about an hour, and press the power button several times. After the hour is up, plug it in for 20 minutes before turning it on.

This will clear all the Capacitors of residual electricity and help it to get a "Clean" turn on. Power outages can do some funny things to electronics, as well as very destructive things.

I suggest a good power conditioner be installed, and replaced every few years, on any sensitive or expensive electronics because of this. (Cheep "Power strips" can do more harm than good)

Defrost light (red light) is on in heat mode and unit not working on heat. Has happened since a power outage.

Good Morning Ray,

I understand that the defrost light is on in heat mode on your Electrolux air conditioner, and your appliance is not working on heat. I also see that this has happened since you had a power outage. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging your appliance or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try any setting. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please provide me with the model number of your air conditioner. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

It has been 12 hours on the Frigidaire A/C since the power outage. The unit still has not come on.

Hi, check to see if there is power to the unit. Is there any lights that are on the unit. If power is good
Check for a reset button or switch. Or just turn the unit off and on may work. Good luck.

Air conditioner compressor runs for about 1-2 min, then cuts off

well when u have outages the voltage drops obviously, the one that suffers are the capacitors the capacitor for the compressor might need to change, change it with the same capacity as the old one example if labels say 55 microfarady ( mf ) ( 55 mf ) get one of the same I am not saying it is a 55 mf capacitor vary depending on motor and brand. So check the label

Trane Heat Pump

What caused the power outage? Check the outdoor disconnect to the condenser unit. The fuses may have blown, causing the heat pump to not function and depending on the aux. heat to carry the load.
