Don't forget to unplug the hood, or switch it of. Although the halogen lamps are only 12 volt. In the hood are dangerous voltages. How to replace cooker hood halogen bulb or lamp
First remove cover to access the bulb, pull bulb straight down being careful not to break it. to replace w/new bulb, remove bulb from package, be sure to use a cloth or some type of glove so as not to get oils from your fingers on the new bulb as this will create a hot spot on the new bulb and shorten the life of the bulb. Install the new bulb by inserting into the fixture by gently pushing the bulb into socket.
Check out the zephyr Site. The halogen bulbs they use are very unique. Have two clients that have Zephyr hoods and took me a while to locate replacement bulbs. Could not find them at the local lighting stores nor hardware stores. I believe it is a 35 watt halogen (sort of an MR-16 size) with an entended base.

The more I worked with it, the more I discovered that the real problem was that a screw was not all the way screwed in and it was preventing the panel from sliding. Another problem I may have is finding the glass covered halogen bulb.
1. remove filters
2. Unscrew 2 screws retaining metal plate under the filters.
3. Now you must remove the whole light panel. 5 screws in all, three under the front lip and two at both back ends of the same panel.
4.You now unhook the light wires (plastic connector with two wires)
Now you have the whole pnale in your hands. Unclip the socket of "problem side" and unscrew the socket from the bulb. Re-do steps 184.108.40.206
