Question about Frigidaire FAA065M7A Air Conditioner

Blower motor cycling on and off

I have a Payne Furnace (model# 396JAZ048080AAFA) using a CESO 110018-00 control board and I have two problems that I suspect may be related.

The first is at the start of the heat or cool cycle when the fan starts up. About 50% of the time, the fan comes on for 2-3 seconds, does not reach full speed and requires a "second attempt" to start and reach operating speed.

The second problem is at the end of the heat or cool cycle when the blower motor switches off. 2-3 seconds after stopping, it cycles on and off again for a couple of second and this happens 3-4 times before finally switching off.

Whe I use the manual override, the fan starts and stops without the above problems.

After looking at the circuit diagram, I notice that the heat fan relay seems to be energized via a transistor that get's it's signal from a "time delay circuit".

I have gone about as far as I can with this without testing to compoent level on the controller PCB (which may be beyond my skill level) so I am thinking about changing out the whole controller PCB.

Does it sound as if I am on the right track or do you have any other suggestions?

All comments welcome!

Thanks so much.

3 amp fuse blows when call for gas after pilot runs for 30 seconds

check the blower motor for seized of burnt out. Fuses blow because of excess current draw and in this case if the fan is not starting everything will stop. The gas will be set so that if the fan is not running the gas will not be allowed to turn on

I have a E2EB-017HA air handler and I want to change it to a variable speed motor. Is this possible

Some companies do sell a variable speed kit. It includes the motor and controls. Get your model and serial number of your unit and contact your local Payne dealer. The can locate the proper kit if available for you.

Payne air handler with possible GE X13 Failure

Check your dip switch settings on tonnage and your CFM per ton settings. Also make sure they wired the the low voltage for cooling to Y and not YLO if its a single stage compressor system.

You may have a defective control board or blower motor. You will need to find on the main control board the location where the blower motor (marked heat) is connected. Using a volt meter, after resetting the limits and restarting unit, you will need to check and see if the board is supplying 1115 volts to blower motor (between the blower heat terminal and one of the neutral terminals on board). Also have someone hold in the door safety switch, or put a piece of tape on the switch, The switch will pop out when the bottom furnace door is removed, this is the normal location of control board. As the furnace goes through its normal cycle and prior to locking out on safety (limit opening) you should get 115 volts from the board (terminal marked blower / heat). If the board does not put out 115 volts, then the board is defective. If the board puts out 115 volts and the blower does not operate, the blower motor is probably defective, there is one more check to do. Close the door and put your system in cooling, see if the motor starts, if it does, then the low speed (reactor) is defective and motor needs replacing. If the motor does not start in cooling mode, you may have a defective capacitor. Check all of the above first and see what happens. Good luck, and be careful.

Hello, if this is a electronic ignition Furnace the relay is located on the intergrated control board. The only problem is that you cannot replace only the relay on those boards, the whole board must be replaced.

No power to ac indoor fan motor

sounds like you might have a bad control board. try putting a jumper wire on the control board low voltage terminals R and G your fan should come on and run if you have 120v power to fan motor. double check that you do have 120 leaving board and going to motor. if no 120 bad board if you do have 120 bad motor. if it is the board it likely has a bad blower relay which is common in amana models and goodman equipment.

Blower fan wont shut off

Try cycling the switch at the furnace to reset the blower board. If this doesn't work remove the green wire from the blower board(computer board) to eliminate a shorted t-stat or shorted wire between the furance and t-stat. If blower remains on, then blower board is shorted. I've seen all these problems.

Furnace completes cycle but the (24volts)wont keep the gas valve on.

Depending on which model you have there is a fan limit switch or a fan control or pc board that will bring the fan on once the furnace warms up some so that it doesn't blow cool air. This could be malfunctioning or the blower it;s self is malfunctioning which could be a fan relay, compasitor, or the blower motor it's self.

I have a Ruud Silhoulette Model #UGPJ-12EARJR Furnace. My Carrier A/C unit comes on but the fan blower motor in the furnace does not.

Could be a bad fan control board or the motor. Need to see if you have power to the motor from the board
