the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)

SOURCE: standard horizon 155c not acquiring signal

If the signal is good statement seems to imply that it is working, perhaps this is my misinterpretation of what you mean by this.
Signal refers to the abi;ity to connect to satellites
4 are requied for triangulation.
If the unit is fully charged and not connecting , then it is quite possible that the unit has a damaged SIIRF chip or whatever chip was used in your model to acquire satellite connection. The cost of repair is costly, it means total replacement of the M/Board.
Never start car with the unit connected into DC car power, spikes will damage the chip

Why does My 170c is not receive signal. It shows "acquiring" all the time

It is not "linking" the GPS signal to your GPS receiver. There may be a "dead spot" you are in or the unit itself has a malfunctioning RF unit within the GPS receiver. You cannot be under a bridge or other obstruction with a GPS unit for signal to reach it.

I am trying to find a replacement battery for a standard horizon handheld VHF model # HX350s

  • The manufacturer stopped making them battery packs a few years back. You can still get a battery pack from here http://www.primecell.com/webpages/HHRadio/standard.htm (second one down on the list according to your model)
  • Here is another place http://www.nicdladyonline.com/rebuilding/standard.html (first one on the list)
  • The pack itself consists or 8 AA NiCad rechargeable batteries. The ones used to make battery packs have metal tabs on the positive and negative side rather than how the AA normally come. This is because soldiering to standard batteries is a pain if not dangerous and flat batteries make a much cleaner pack as well. So you can take that old pack apart and soldier 8 rechargeable NiCads in the exact same way as the one your radio uses. If you don't have soldiering skills the the $40 pack would be advised.

  • Hope this helps.

Screen says c card invalid

Your best bet here would be to either head for a marine chandlery that handles these C-Cards and have them plug yours into one of their chartplotters or a vessel nearby that uses the same cartridge.

If your card works on theirs chartplotter, the problem lies within your CP150. If they get the same fault displayed as you do on your unit, for some reason the Card has a fault.

Hope this helps.
