SOURCE: cpu fan noisy /chip fan fail

You must buy a new CPU Fan. You can get them HERE or a zillion other places on the Internet. You need a Socket 939 type fan that will handle your cpu speed. If you need help installing it, it may be in the manual. You can read the manual by clicking on the picture of your MB at the top of this post and then scrolling down.

Hope that fixed ya...

SOURCE: Asus motherboard M2N-E will not power up

It could be a memory card too. I would start by pulling the memory cards and see what happens.

Is there a connection on the motherboard for your hard drive?

SOURCE: Connecting my PSU to my Motherboard

The bare essentials to start a computer are PSU, Motherboard, CPU, RAM and Video.

Its possible the PSU arrived DOA. Though I've only had 2 DOA PSU's in the 15 years I've been building custom computers.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Cpu fan runs at high speed all the time

the problem is that the mother board you are now using has a 4th wire that sences cpu temp this allow the heat sink fan to change speed to get this to work correctly you will need to replace the fan with a 4 wire style. what is happening is your not getting a temp siginal back to motherboard so the fan controller think it hot and send full power to fan alll the time the stock fan in hp systems is not very good any way .Get a good heat sink and fan to fit your new board ebay has them very cheap 5.00 to 20.00 this will all so increase you system temp and all get the proper cooling when you really need it.

SOURCE: Does a M2N68-AM Plus (Asus motherboard) have to

Yes, it will work, just that the fan control will be missing and the fan will run at full speed constantly.

Push power button and the power light turns amber and lights up then shuts off. the light in back of the computer is light green and it starts to turn on then dies

The fact that ity is trying to start and shuts off after ..it seams that it is the CPU fan to blame ...If the fan fails to start the CPU will turn the computer down instantly due to the temperature limit ..(in 1 or 2 sec ) ..
so ...open it up ..and see if the fan is spinning ...on start ..and if it is not ...check the connection with the board or replace it ..
(by the way ..this may also be a CPU failure ..and need another one ) ..

I changed my cpu fan out, when i started it up it ran 30sec and shut down. So i replaced new mother board without fan., it still shuts down after a few sec. I disconected the 4 pin power source and it will...

From your problem description it sounds like the CPU was overheated (and failed) before you replaced the CPU fan - so the fan replacement was too late. Since the procesor already failed, installing a new motherboard without a fan did not accomplish anything.

The 4 pin power plug provides +12 volts DC to the processor. When you disconnected it, the processor essentially could not run at all and the system is no longer capable of detecting the CPU failure and shutting down the power supply.

You need to install a known good CPU which is the right type and speed for your computer. Unless you are experienced in replacing,CPU's, fans, heat-sinks and applying thermal grease I recommend that you have a PC technician perform these tasks.

95 monte carlo 3.1 cooling fan comes on at 3/4 temp, when the coolant temp sensor is disconnected both fans run strongly until car is shut off, but when its connected only 1 fan will come on at 3/4 temp

to check both fans work at high temps put a sheet of card over the rad to block off airflow and run engine till hot, keeping an eye on when they both start (one is set at a lower temp than the other),if the second fan dont start when the engine is really hot THEN you have a problem.....

E-MACHINE SHUTS DOWN ON ITS OWN WHILE I AM USING IT THEN STARTS BEEPING ONCE EVERY 4 SECS

Hi

First thing i would check would be to see if the inside of your computer has a dust accumulation, or the CPU fan and or heat sink are clogged with dust, this will also cause shutdowns because the computer is designed to shut down if the CPU gets too hot.
With the computer off and unplugged-----
I would check the back of the computer where the exhaust fan is for the power supply to see if the fan blades are dirty. A little dirt is normal.
Remove the side access cover on the case and see how dusty it is. If there is a lot of dust would recommend having this cleaned, or using compressed air to clean it out. (best done outside in an open area lol)
If it is clean, i would recommend plugging everything back in, but leaving the side cover off, make sure that the CPU fan is spinning. if it is making any odd noises (other than the normal fan whine) or if it appears to stall, it would be best to have this replaced.

If you have added any extra hard drives, dvd drives, or PCI/PCI express addin cards, these all consume power and can overload a system if the power supply is not rated to handle the power that is being drawn from it. This can also cause shutdowns

If everything checks out, i would start to suspect a system board issue.
a BIOS reflash may resolve this but if you arent familiar with how this is done it would be best to take it to a shop, or have someone you know that is computer saavy perform this for you. its nothing complicated to do this.
If a BIOS reflash doesnt solve this, then without being able to look at it, i would have to suspect a failing motherboard.

hope this helps, and if i have helped you please dont forget to rate.

Compaq presario cpu cooling fan will not start spinning unless "helped" with tip of pen to spin over.If I dont start it manually,I get No cpu fan message, and shut down.I just replaced fan,as old had broken...

If the CPU fan speed is too slow or not working at all, the computer will shut itself off automatically to prevent damage to CPU from overheating. You may end up having to throw more money at the problem and get a new fan. I went to Compaq's web site, looked up your particualr computer, found out what type of fan you needed, and I did some research. I recommend getting the fan in the following link. It's very cheap, and has good reviews. The other fans on the site all have bad reviews. Hope this helps.

Cpu fan starting and then shuts off after 3 secs,

well for that you might jsut need to get a new board because if a chip had gone bad on a motherboard, you might as well get a new one.
Chips are not replaceable since they are not sottered on the mobo, they are imbedded

HP Pavillion dv4000 turns on and shuts off and turns on and shuts off -

No I work on HP's all day, it is nothing to do with the OS or the BIOS. It is a problem with the motherboard fan control, in other words the mainboard is bad even with the latest BIOS update. The CPU is getting too hot, as this happens the CPU gets damaged because the Fox board does not have a temp sensor. So periodically the voltage make kick on the cpu but for the most part the computer will never work the same. The longest I got this dv4000 to run was just under 4 hours with no apps running.
Total overhaul replace board, processor, and possibly the fan.

~Hope this answers your question.

The laptop doesnt start up. cooling fan is brocken. thermal oil is old and almost dry and little

Sometimes depending on the version of BIOS there is a thermal shut down feature,If the CPU gets to hot it will shut the entire system down. What you can do is replace the CPU fan and apply more grease in between the heat sink and the CPU chip.If this does not solve your problem then you may have damaged the CPU.the best way to fix this is to replace the motherboard and CPU.Try replacing the fan first because if your computer has the thermal shut down feature then chances are that it protected the motherboard and CPU from any damage.Try the simple things first! GOOD LUCK.
