Hi! I have two computers; my desktop will stay connected with no problems, but my laptop will only stay connected for about 20 minutes at a time. What can I do to keep my laptop connected?

Yes it could be a weak wireless connection. However it also depends on what type of wireless card you use. It also depends on the BSS band, bluetooth colaboration, channel set etc. Check for all this

Does this problem occur regardless of the network you're on with your Laptop? If you're only concerned with one network you should check the desktop to see if it is 'wired' (connected via Ethernet) or not. I suspect the problem is merely a weak wireless connection.

Okay I can help. Here are a few things that might help, if not please e-mail me at: Isobellaebeck@gmail.com. Okay, first thing restart your computer. Then hold down the power button for 20-30 seconds. Next, after it starts up wait 10 minutes without doing ANYTHING if it shuts down before the time is up it means it has a virus, so you have to go get it fixed.

Probably has something to do with the battery. Make sure the battery has a good contact connection.

If it keeps connecting and disconnecting, it could be either the power adapter or the motherboard, but chances are it's the power adapter (and that's the cheaper solution too). You can usually get a new power adapter for $15 or $20, and that should take care of your problem.

If you are connecting thru a ethernet cable then your ethernet is not working properly. While if you are connecting thru WiFi then the WiFi is not working properly. A cheaper option to get over this WIFi problem would be to use a WiFi dongle on the laptop rather then get the WIFi repaired which would be very expensive.

I THINK ANY VIRUS MAY BE IN YOUR SYSTEM. PLEASE FULL SCAN YOUR COMPUTER THROUGH A GOOD ANTIVIRUS. IF PROBLEM REMAINS SAME THEN YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE FORMAT WINDOW AND THEN REINSTALL WINDOW.

Dear User,

your computer goes to standby poisition after 20 minutes.
Therefore you have to change settings in power options in control panel.

Hopefully your problem will be resolved.

Unable to re-connect laptop to internet via wireless router

Reset all again.
Power off the modem, router, and PCs and wait 20 seconds or so.
Then power up the Modem first, then the router, and finally your PCs, wait a couple of minutes and try to connect.
