Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console
I've read your help before, so I'd like to ask:
When the browser started coming up, not the game, I checked out this site and got a new laser. That worked for a few good months and I was quite happy with myself. But with two small boys, it makes sense that the second laser would soon fry as they probably left it on with no disc, etc. So we got another laser. Now, installed, there remains no spin-age! I know about the disc break/2 little buttons to hold down, and still nothin. Can you tell me if our days of Saturday morning gaming are over?
The laser wont go on unless the disc is IN and the cover is closed.
There is a disc brake post coming down from the LID . If it's broken , the disc wont spin/read.
The post is on the back right of the LID it (normally) goes thru a cutout that moves the brake out of the way.
Other troubles are debris on the worm gear that drives the laser assembly back n forth.
If the post is broken drill out the old one and put some kind of plastic or wooden stick about 1/4 inch long in it's place

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
