SOURCE: my dimplex night storage heater has stopped working.

...not too sure of your model but all dimplex heaters to my knowledge have an 'overload' cut out built into the system. Ours is more up to date but still goes now and then, problem is you have to get into the electrics and click the reset button, normally near or on the thermostat it's self, could be a small white plastic button, or a piece metal sticking up that needs pressing down to reset...but please before attempting make sure that you TURN OFF THE ELECTRIC / REMOVE THE FUSE/ WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO CUT ANY CHANCE OF AN ELECTRIC SHOCK!!!...because I can and will get you if it can ;-)... if your not a competent electrician please get hold of one !... good luck.

SOURCE: Goodman GMS90703BXA Heater/AC - 3 Amps Fuse blows

It is a problem on your low voltage side. I had the same issue and found that my wire going to my outside condeser had been snagged on a wire hanger in my basement and was shorting out the system. I went a head and replaced the entire wire from my outside unit to my indoor and haven't had an issue since. So my advice is go to HD or Lowes and purchase some 14 gauge wire and replace the low voltage wire. If that doesn't work, then replace the thermistat wire, and thermistat. Great time to upgrate to a energy efficient thermastat.

It sounds as though it has tripped the internal cut-out - this can be manually reset quite easily by yourself. It would probably be best to ring Dimplex customer services on 0845 6005111 to get them to talk you through it step-by-step though.

The fuse keeps blowing inside the edenpure heater

Generally speaking, fuses blow when too much current passes through them. Typically this happens when there is a short circuit some place. a connector or bare spot in a wire touching ground, a bad component on a circuit board, a bit of conductive debris on a circuit board all can cause shorts. If the fuse blows, it's doing its job to protect you from a problem you have yet to find.

1993 Goodman gas furnace keeps blowing fuse when first turned on

You can take each thermostat wire off the control board and use a ohm meter and test to ground, should not have any resistance. Another way is turn off power take each wire off the board, then place one wire at back on the control board terminals ome at a time, untill the one you get to the one that blows the fuse. If the wires check out good sometimes the thermostat itself can have a internal short and cause the fuse to blow.

Hi I have a night store heater model 79168 in my new home and no idea how to use it!! Please help :)

Here is a good article for Dimplex, a storage heater manufacturer, that explains the the theory and how it works. I'm sure you will find it interesting. http://www.dimplex.com/storage_heaters#

Basically, thermal storage heaters heat ceramic bricks during off peak hours (during the night), store the heat to be used during peak hours (during the daylight hours), when electricity is more expensive per kilowatt hour.

Hope this helps you.

Dimplex oil heater FR24. 2400W oil heater. shorts fuse box

I would suggest that the element may have absorbed some mloisture whilst being left in storage for a period of time. You may need to take it to a local repairer to see if they can dry out the element.

If there is moisture in the element it is not safe to use, hence it trips your circuit breaker.

Hi, Last night none of the Dimplex storage heaters in my home came on. I checked the fuse box and nothing has been trippped. They were working fine the night before and I cant think of any reason why they...

Hi,
It may be that the off peak to your house has failed to switch on, possibly due to the off peak time switch in your meter cupboard not working, I suggest you contact your local electricity board and ask them to check your off peak supply
