Question about Canon PIXMA Office Equipment & Supplies
I just bought a canon PIXMA MG3122. I have a MacBook 10.5.8 When I got home with the printer I realized that it works only on 10.6 and above, so I downloaded the driver from canon website. SO now the printer works, but the scanner does not, I hit the 'can' button on the printer nothing happens! So I went again to the canon website and chose the scanner driver, after installation, a little image of the driver shows up on my desk top, when I hit on it, it crashes right away and won't open. Q1: how come the printer works but NOT the scanner? Q2: My computer fails to discover the blue tooth from the printer and so does my iphone. At home I don't have a router instead I use WIFI through a Verizon portable MIFi 4GLTE. Any advice on where and how I can activate the blue tooth device to communicate with both my iphone and MacBook, and how I can get the scanner to work. Thank you in advance. Maya

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I had run into a similar problem with my all-in-one and had to use
http://www.irfanview.com/ (which is free) to scan with
Open irfanview and select File>Acquire Batch Scanning

Go to this link and type "cannot communicate with scanner" in the search box. Click Search. Then select the "ERROR: Cannot communicate with scanner" link. You will see several things to try to correct your problem. Usually, this error shows up if there is another USB device connected which prevents the computer from "seeing" the scanner, even though it can print without problem. So do try to disconnect any other USB device (except mouse or keyboard) and reboot the system.

I bought a Lexmark X1290 printer and installed a wrong driver (for WinXP) from the enclosed CD. Then I could not run the All in One program. After many reinstallation attemps, I finally found a solution (which is unfortunately quite hidden at the Lexmark website):
1) Unplug the printer's USB cable from the computer.
2) Download the cleaning utility from ftp://ftp.lexmark.com/driver/inkjet_drivers/Cleanup/.
3) Double-click on the cleanup utility and follow the on-screen instructions to run it.
4) Restart the computer.
5) Download all files from ftp://ftp.lexmark.com/driver/inkjet_drivers/Cleanup/reg/
6) Follow the instructions in the "Vista BackDoor Instructions.txt" and delete all remaining Lexmark
keys in the registry.
7) Restart the computer
8) Download a proper driver for Windows Vista from the Lexmark website.
9) Install the driver accordingly to the instructions (it's important to plug the printer's USB cable when you are ask to, not before)
The problem with Lexmark Unistall and CleanUp Utility is that you cannot delete all Lexmark registry keys while you arelogged in the system. This is anellegant way how to circumvent the problem.
