Re: my sewing machine is sewing in reverse Kenmore...
Hopefully this is only a mechanical problem that can be fixed with oil. If not it is either a stepper motor or circuit board. If you are not comfortable with removing covers and oiling then it needs to go to the shop. Good luck!

I've got a Kenmore sewing machine and the back stitch is a button/lever on the front of the machine. It has to be held down when you want to back stitch, because when you let it go it stitches forward again. Hopefully that helps, I'm not sure what yours looks like. ( I couldn't find pictures of your model online anywhere.) :)
Could be several things -- motor hooked up backwards, reverse is stuck, etc. Is there a Reverse on the machine? If so, what happens when you activate the reverse. If it then sews forward I would say someone hooked the motor backwards. If there is no change, it would be a problem with the feeding motor or the circuit board. Suggest taking to a reputable service center for analysis. Good luck.
You need a shop adjustment, try not to take the machine into large stores because they immediately put a massive fixed charge on before any work is done on the machine, find a local dealer if possible they will sort it out for probably a fraction of the price
