The box you're seeing is the "closed caption' box. You need to use the remote and disable CC mode on it, and the box will go away :)

Black Rectangle appears on bottom half of screen

Go into your setup menu and turn off closed captioning. The box is there for some channels even though no text is being sent. If you need to keep the closed captioning, try selecting a different mode for it.

Blach rectangle bottom halfpart of screen

Salutations bachiche13,

It sounds like your "Text" feature of your closed captioning may be activated. It sounds like what you would want to do is go in to your television menu and select CC or Closed Captioning to mute or off.

Hope this helps.

I'm guessing its the "CC", closed captioning. You have to turn it off, it's either in your menu or you have a button the remote saying either, Text or CC.

Unwanted black rectangle on the TV screen

I'm not sure what type of TV you are using,, but most all Large Screens have a reset button someplace. You should be able to reset the TV and fix the problem. Its not the remote, making the image appear, but a command from it was misinterpeted. Sometimes turning the set off will work, but most often it needs to be reset.

EXCEPTION... if you are using a cable box. Disconnect it from power, wait 1 minute and then see if the problem exists. If the cable box is on even with the DVD you may still have this issue. Please reset the cable, and if that doesn't work, reset the TV.
Thanks! //D

This type of problems and some OSD problems are occurs due to microprocessor over modulation. One option is there. That is if you have any child lock or keypad lock or frontpanel lock. First locked the system. Now check your problem arise. If it is not OK. Otherwise try to find nearby any radio frequency cable across in your tv. keep away that cablewire also. your problem solved. Even you get Call your nearst service provider..
