Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
While playing Ratchet and Clank it froze up and wouldnt read any disks afterward. someone recomended i blow it out with compressed air it worked for about an hour then froze up and now wont read any disks again. everything works fine.
This is a laser problem. Blu-ray drives use a laser with a magnifying lens, and any dust on them at all will cause problems. These lasers are also known to fail and cost around $50 for a new one on ebay. You can also do a fan test to blow out your system. this works much better than using an air compressor. To do this, turn off the power switch on the back of your console, hold your finger on the eject button, then flip the power switch on the back of the system to the "on" position. When the fan comes on release the eject button. The fan should then go into overdrive and run hard for about 20-30 seconds. Keep in mind, if your system is pretty dirty this is going to blow dust all over everything around it,
so do it away from other electronics! Good luck...
