Question about KitchenAid KUDS35FXSS Dishwasher

Open Question

How do I replace the adjuster (the thing with the wheels) on the top rack of my Kitchenaid KUDS35FXSS

The axel that the wheel spins on is broken on the adjuster. I have ordered a new part and can't figure out how to remove the old part and replace it with the new part. Need a few pages from a service manual. Or some good advice. because I know when the part arrives there won't be any instructions with it. Thanks

SOURCE: Kitchenaid, new dishwasher, stopped cleaning top rack dishes

The problem most people encounter with dishwashers is a simple inability to get the dishes clean. There might be stuck-on food or residue from the detergent. A water pressure problem may be the culprit. You may need to replace the water intake valve. Another common problem is mineral build-up. If your house has hard water, the mineral build-up can clog the water jets. Clear each jet with a wire or pin, and run an empty load with some vinegar in the detergent dispenser about once a month.

Sometimes, the dishwasher has problems draining properly. There could be a clog in the drain hose, or a problem with the pump. It's also possible that the dishwater is getting too sudsy, and sensors in the washer aren't detecting the soap foam as water. This causes it to shut down the drain cycle too early. Just use less detergent.

SOURCE: My kitchenaid dishwasher is not cleaning the

If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

**Water temperature Note***

To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.

SOURCE: glasses int he top rack of my kitchenaid

If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is to add some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1/4 of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well.
You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass.

Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.

Why cv axle is twisting

Are you trying to tell us that when you put it in gear.. the axel spins and moves up and down because of a broken CV JOINT? In this case the axels are sold rebuilt for really low price. They are not real easy to change.. look under the car while someone puts it in gear.. WITH THE E BRAKE ON AND WHEELS BLOCKED.. AND SEE WHAT THE AXE; IS DOING. Then you can make an assessment of what to replace.

How do I remove the slack in the steering on a 1995 toyota 4runner

In rack and pinion steering, they are long and tube like to look at, the wear that takes place that causes play is the rack ends. You have to
take the boots off and unscrew the rack end, always fit new units .
With recirculating ball steering boxes, you adjust the end play on the sctor shaft on top of the box with the wheels up off the ground, make sure that there are no tight spots when you spin the steering wheel from lock to lock as you adjust the play out.

How do i tighten my emergency brake?

Adjustment is at the emergency brake assembly, look for a nut on the end of a threaded cable. rack vehicle or rear wheels on jack stands. Pull e brake 2 or 3 clicks, spin both rear wheels and compare resistance. Slightly tighten nut about 1 turn and try to spin rear wheels. Do this until the rear wheels are locked in place. Reassemble e brake assembly, un rack vehicle, and enjoy your freshly adjusted e brake!

I have a new trike that may have ome shipping damage (bought at flea market) The rear axel appears to be bent. severe wheel wooble. is there some adjustment in those set screw type bolts in the center of...

The set screws in the center of the axle are there to keep the axle centered in the frame. Only the right wheel is powered which also means only the right wheel brakes when operating the rear brake. This is because the rear wheels must be able to spin independently when turning because the outside wheel will move faster. Unfortunately no one builds differentials at this price.

If you have wheel wobble you need to determine if the axle is bent or the wheel is not true. Prop up the rear of the bike on a stand and remove the problematic wheel. Manually pedal the bike and check the axle as it spins. If the axle is wobbling then it is bent and will need to be replaced. If it spins true then the wheel is the culprit.

The axle is relatively inexpensive and can be ordered through a Schwinn dealer. Any bike shop should be able to true a wheel for around $15-$20.

Hi i have a Kitchenaid 24 in MODEL KUDIO1IL8L5 TYPE 577-0 problem is 2fold 1st,after starting 2minutes in a grinding noise from down below starts then stops when water starts.2nd we now have a rumble...

ok, I don't have the same dishwasher, but it is a kitchenaid, and it had the same symptoms.

most dishwashers have a food grinder under the strainer. as the water is forced past a wheel and sprayed up on your dishes, the wheel spins a wire-mesh wheel that grinds up the left over mac & cheese, and Grape-nuts.

if you've ever broken a glass in the dishwaher, or the like, this stuff get's down in the mesh, and messes things up.

Fixing this is not easy, because you have lean inside the DW for a long time. But it's worth saving a bunch of money.

1. remove the racks and the center screw that holds the bottom spinner on.
2. remove the feed tube to the top rack spinner as applicable.
3. remove the screws that hold the bottom mesh cover on. pretty much, if you see a screw, take it out.
4. eventually you will be looking into a hole in the middle of your DW.
5. here you should have a single screw on one side that holds a cover plate onto the grinder. the screw is easy to get out, but you will have to work at the rest of it. it comes straight up.
6. this should expose the wheel and all the junk.
7. take it all out and vacuum it out.
8. the wheel is held in place with a spring and nylon coupler, that allows the wheel to STOP moving if something jams it up. when it does this, the couples clicks as the shaft rotates without it.
9. Getting it all back together is a chore. insert the wheel making sure it aligns inthe correct slot. align the cover's correct slot. make sure the coupler is actually in contact with the shaft.
10. snap the cover on, this may take several tries. and you're going to need a hot pad by now for your back, which should be ON FIRE.
11. once you back stops spasming and you've got the grinder cover back on, the rest is a breeze.
12. while you've got it all apart, clean the rubber seals around the doors, and lubricate them with some silicon lubricant if you have it available.

Screws on my Sears track drive snowblower unthread themselves.

Back wheels have a gear that connects to the drive chain. on each side. those spin.
The front ones which are Idlers do not spin as the idler wheel as a bushing in it that allows free motion on the shaft without resistance. Use a nylock nut with Locktight for starters. The try that.

Hope this helps. -Jeff anchorage small engine repair.
