SOURCE: Bobbin stuck on bobbin winder, how do I get it off? it will not budge!

Is thread under bobbin? can you turn it? can you pull the thread off the bobbin and then remove it? Bobbin that comes with machine may not be right one. Right one has a light blue tint and a slightly domed top.

SOURCE: Problem with winding thread onto

first you must make sure the winder shaft is turning by moving it to the right a little and see if you can turn it by hand.
If it is turning ok then there is a rubber ring on the other end of the winder shaft and it should come in contact with the drive which turnes it ,if it is worn it might need a new rubber.

There are two details to this that may make a difference in the answer...

The problem I had was that it wound the bobbins too high on one side, so the rubber foot stopped it but it was only half full. So if you looked at the bobbin after it was wound straight on, you saw a slant to one side where more thread was wound. The fix to that was easy - gently guide the thread down with your finger as it winds to make sure it does so evenly. Be careful with the pressure! You don't need much at all to do the job, but if you push down too far it will quickly go right past the bottom of the bobbin and wind on the metal axel.

The second detail is that the rubber foot that is attached to the right of the bobbin spooler on the top of the machine (it has a screw down on it) has been bumped or moved closer to the bobbin so that it stops too early. The best way to fix this is to tighten the screw just a hair - that goes clockwise and should twist the rubber foot with it as much as you tighten. IF the screw is already really tight, then just use your thumb to push that rubber foot out a bit (again, clockwise around the screw post).

Warning: Overtightening the screw will lead to breaking it all together pretty easily, so only use the tighten the screw method if it's already loose!

Make a small move to it, then try winding again. If the wrapped thread extends past the edge of the bobbin, you've adjusted too far and need to bring it back in.

SOURCE: singer 328k bobbin winder replacement

Follow these instructions, undo the 2 screws on the right hand side plate where the balance wheel is and take the plate off, undo the screw on the chrome stop motion wheel, undo the stop motion and take it off, take off the 2 pronged washer and notice which way it goes on, not a problem if you can't remember, you should be able to pull the balance wheel back so you can get to the screws on the winder, if you can.t and if you have a problem getting the balance wheel all the way then go the very bottom of the machine and you will see 2 big holes and one of the holes will lead you to a big screw and nylon adjuster, slacken the screw and move the nylon adjust so the belt goes slack, you can not take the balance wheel all the way off to get to the screws on the winder, take the old one off and screw the new one on, whilst you have the balance wheel off it would be wise to put some thin oil on the shaft before you put the balance wheel back on, when you have the balance wheel on and the and the belt round the pulley turn the nylon adjuster so the belt is tight and tighten up the screw, put the side plate back on, put the 3 pronged washer back on, put the stop motion wheel back on and just tighten finger tight then tighten the small screw.

Singer Tradition - my bobbin winder has stopped winding so I have to wind thread on manually.

Check on a standalone bobbin winder called "Sidewinder." Make sure it is compatible with your bobbins--some bobbins won't work on the Sidewinder. If it is compatible, then for ~$30 you can wind all your bobbins. (I have one that is powered by battery or by electricity.)

My singer 5932 auto bobbin winder is not working?

Make sure that something like your buttonhole lever or button for a twin needle are not down (if you have them). You can get it fixed, but you can also just buy a Simplicity bobbin winder for under $25, that actually does a better job anyway.

How do you get the auto threading and wind in place to work on Singer XL6000 sewing machine

There are several FB and Yahoo groups dedicated to the Quantum XL-1000, XL-5000 and XL-6000 who can help you. It may be that your problem with the autothreading is the autothreader is out of adjustment, but I'm at a loss as to the bobbin winder problem.

Three possible causes: 1.Bobbin not push fully down the bobbin winder spindle
2.Need to push bobbin winder spindle to the left before you can wind the bobbin
3.The bobbin winder spindle rubber ring has worn out. This will need a local technician to fix it.

change the needle
rethread the machine top & bobbin
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or threads
make sure there is no burrs on the bobbin case or that the bobbin
case is not damaged
if none of these suggestions help, then it might be a good idea

My bobbin won't catch on the bobbin winder, the metal post spins but the plastic singer style bobbin won't spin with it. What's wrong?

The bobbin may be stripped, or the bobbin winder might be stripped; try it with a different bobbin, to rule out the bobbin being the issue; if that doesn't work, look closely at the bobbin winder to see if it has been damaged. You may be able to adjust it's shape with a pliers
