you need to go to garmin web site register it and they will give you the free download there.

You didn't say how long you've had your device, but if you haven't registered your device at Garmin.com yet, go do that and they will then offer you a free upgrade.

Other than that, I don't think you'll find anything free. The next best thing is to buy the "nüMaps Lifetime™". I felt this was the best deal they have.

Asmany as there are FREE dinners Updates are not free, unless you paid full price for it when you bought it. Free upgrades are a deceptive myth. If you get a free uograde its usually minor and was included in the price of the pack.

If it's working alright and you're happy with the map there's no need to update it. New maps are released approximately every 3 months for Garmin satnavs but unless there are a lot of new roads there's no need to update that often. Details on how to update your satnav, if you want to, are at http://www.fixya.com/support/r5628920-update_garmin_satnav_maps

Garmin only supply free updates if a new map became available within 60 days of the first time your satnav accessed satellites. If you never checked to see if you were entitled to a free update follow the update procedure outlined at the above link. When you click on Get Update, if you are entitled to it free you'll be brought to the download page. If you're not entitled to it free you'll be brought to the page where you pay for it.

No it doesn't. Garmin devices have one free map update included when you buy it new. You need to register your product online to get it.

You can purchase lifetime map updates on garmin.com or buy one upgrade at a time.
