Question about Computers & Internet
I had the same problem, and found out that the mainboards audio chip was not functional. you can request the hotfix here....(http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%20XP/sp2/UAA_HD_Audio_OOB_update/5013/free/216955_intl_i386_zip.exe) this worked on my notebook with the high def audio.,the second one was code 10 cannot start this hardware. due to audio chip burnt out. hope this is not the case for you. and read the info before the hotfix is installed, also consider an external sound box, like a creative audigy, this is what i did for the damaged one. i think it is better than the built in sound, and enjoy music more.hope you find this useful,.good luck!

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
