Mine had the same problem when i left my sd card adapter in my phone without my card in it. put my card back in it or took the adapter out while the card was out and it works perfect.

Start -> Settings -> G (More) -> C (Power Management). Arrow to "Backlight timeout on battery", left/right arrow to 5 or 10 seconds. May I also recommend finding and installing Candlelight. It's a nice little application to run your light at a dimmer level to save the battery.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

make sure you have not disabled it in the power saving settings.
if that is not the problem then the backlight is defective. it can be replaced with parts available from ebay.

The battery life of my ku990 is abnormal

The two main causes of battery life loss that no one thinks of are:

backlight settings (if you don't really need the backlight to stay on for 60 seconds after the last button press, lower it. this is a huge waste of battery life and it is easily changed in the settings menu of nearly every phone i have seen)

poor signal areas (when you have low signal, you phone wastes its battery life searching for acquirable signal. if it is unable to locate the signal, it will continue to search. this search uses up your battery life quite rapidly)

Keyboard backlight does not turn on for SGH-i617

it does sound like an short in the circuit somewhere could have been caused from something being spilled on it or being dropped, your lcd screen does not use the same one as your keyboard backlight, but check the settings by holding the cv button until the menu pops up if it dosent work then its probably broke hope this information was helpful:)

Is there anyway to troubleshoot or fix the backlight on my blackberry curve myself? The backlight wont turn on.

Hi,

You can go into setting and change the settings so the backlight stays on longer. But the back light Does come on when you first switch the device i.e. take battery out and back in.

hope this helps,

Thanks.

Because your screen is broken and that can only be fixed if you have it replaced.

Backlight problems

Well if you hold the power button too long the PDA will just turn off the backlight. If you just hit the power once and not hold it then it should shut off (of course it really never "shuts off" completly because if it did then you would loose all your data).

boot_c_03.08.00r_mpap Paul Sager from FixYa has posted a solution for this problem previousley (as below). I have tried the Motorola and Verizon sites (tried the store as well) and the software is not available to flash the phone. Do you know of a site that would still have it available? Or can this question be sent to Paul to further comment on it? All I want to do is recover the phone numbers, notes and calandar from the phone via Activesync or Windows. Paul Sager 2335 Solutions July 14, 2010 I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q. What has happened is that the firmware of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence. This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware. The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash it for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.) If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times. My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone. I hope that helps.
