The loading mechanism has to seat the cassette in the play position. In this case the mechanism is unable to do this. If you cannot get any cassette to load, the vcr may be shot. It probably could be repaired but you would have to consider cost

SOURCE: The VCR accepts the tape and starts to play; then stops and shuts off; when you turn the power back on the tape ejects

You have a transport problem, the mechanism the plays, FF or rewinds is not working.

Someone is going to have to open and look at the unit---as simple as a belt off or broken to the idler (rubber or geared) that doe the actual work, finding a shop that will work on a VCR unit is getting hard as most of the current techs have never seen this type of unit.

What I used to do when I opened one was have a old cassette with the tape removed! but the reels inside of it still there--tape off both sides of the cassette where it opens so the sensors on either side do not try to stop the unit from allowing this.

This way with the unit open and the dummy cassette in you can see thru its top to see if the reels are moving or not and not have the tape get in the way.

E-2 error what does that mean

E2 means: Loading motor locked in the unload direction. Usually(not always) happens with a going bad VCR tape on the rewind. Tape is becoming too difficult to rewind and/or VCR is getting tired. Eject tape. Discard tape as soon as practical, new tapes are cheap. To clear: Hold power on/off button for 8 seconds.

Vcr cuts my tv off after i put the tape in

The VCR is not turning the TV power off. The tape is not playing. I'd guess maybe it needs a cleaning or a replacment.

Tape keeps getting ejected

This unit requires the rubber parts to be replaced. The loading sequence is not completing properly. The VCR will eject the tape when the sequence fails as a safety measure to prevent damage to either the VCR or the tape.

Parts cost for this should not be more than $10.

MINI DV TAPE WON'T LOAD

First power off the unit, then remove the DV's tape housing , power up the unit, and allowed the mechanism to go back to the unload mode, make sure that the tape posts are at unload mode. then unplug the vcr back again, put back the tape's housing in the load position (tape in) power the vcr back on and push eject button to reset tape mechanism.

What do I do when my Emerson TV keeps turning off by itself?

I had the same problem with mine turning off after 3-5 seconds. After much research I found a suggestion that on some combo units the vcr part could have a power supply cutout if it is not working correctly. I tried to insert a tape and found that the tape mechanism would not accept a tape. I used a little bit of force and managed to insert a tape. I then played the tape forwards and backwards and the power stayed on! I ejected the tape and found the TV then worked just fine. The power has now been on for over one hour. I hope this give you another avenue to try and fix your problem.

TV shuts off when VCR tries to eject cassette

This is a hard call man. Some combos have to be laid down when taking the back off or it will collapse when you do take off the back, falling over backwards as they are top heavy. These units are so tight inside by means of no room to work so alot of maufacturers have extension cables to attach to componets ie vcr deck and main chassis. After they take them apart. If you really feel confident then lay the set down on its face and take off the back and after the back is off look to see in the deck part if the tape has come out of the cassette or if it all looks normal. If you see the tape out of the cassette ,cut off the tape on both sides and see if the tape will eject. It it does then go back in after and remove the remainder of the old tape. Now it could have been a bad tape but most likly something is wrong with the mechanism. If you cant see anything out of norm, dont try to force the tape out as you WILL cause more damage and most likely unrepairable. Really there are no user serviceable parts inside these buggers so the best advise I can give ya is to disconnect the thing and take it into your repair shop for an estimate!! Good Luck

Vcr is ejected all the time

the reason for this could be many things. The first one that comes to mind would be a cassette loading problem,ie the cassette you insert does not load all the way for some reason like little fingers or even big fingers put something inside the tape door and when you put in a tape it dosent let the tape settle all the way so rejects it.a falloen off tape label or sticker I have found to cause this problem. If all looks good then theres a sensor or a mecanical problem that should be serviced by a quilifyed technician.
