Question about Whirlpool WED9600T / WED9600TA / WED9600TW Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Whirlpool duet dryer wed9600tw acts like it has no power to it, later it will come on and work fine

My dryer is only a couple years old, but here lately I can go to push the power button and it does nothing. The drum light doesn't even come on. It's like it is completely dead. It will make small clicking noises at times? Then I can push the power and it comes right on and works great! I need to know what's wrong, because I'm tired of having to rewash clothes bc the dryer might take so long that they start smelling. Any suggestions?!?:)

It' sounds like it tripping the thermal. so you might need to get into the heater and clean out the debris AND sweep the exhaust pipe

This is a problem I've seen before, or something similar. I think you've got a bad connection on the neutral wire. Either in the plug or at the panel. Have electrician check the neutral wire back to the panel from the plug.

Check your thermal fuse if no continuity through it then change it, it acts just like a car fuse. If it blows you can't see it you have to test it with a continuity tester. Go here and see what it looks like www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-gew9250-%3d%3di2986&PartID=2986

Whirlpool Duet Dryer not heating

The first thing to do would be to check if the element is broken. Most dryers have a couple of screws that hold the top, and it opens like the hood of a car. The next step is to remove the drum, usually a couple of screws holding the front.
