Question about Kenmore Refrigerators

Open Question

Ice maker door/flap stuck open

I have a Kenmore Coldspot side-by-side refrigerator, Model #106.59422801. The ice maker door is stuck open. There does not appear to be any ice blocking the flap but is is stuck open leaving about an 1-1.5 inch opening between to freezer and the outside. Any ideas on where to start to troubleshoot this? How do I get the ice maker/water dispenser assembly apart in the door? Thanks.

I got the front cover off and found that one of the support brackets holding the door/flap pin is cracked/broken and the pin popped out. So it looks like I need item #1 on the diagram. What is the part number for this? Is it possible to get that part alone or does it come with a kit? There are some wires that go through a hole in the top of this piece is there a wire harness connector on the other side to disconnect the entire wire bundle? I'm trying super glue on the bracket right now since I have it apart but do not expect success. Anybody have any luck with a fix that does not involve replacement of the entire assembly? Thanks.

SOURCE: Ice maker not working Kenmore model 106.55226400

Look for an ice cube lodged in the fingers IM. Get a hair dryer and melt that dude. No ice cube? Add some water to the IM mold. If it kicks out some ice but makes no more then you is gonna need a water valve. If it don't kick out no ice then you is gonna need a ice mold thermostat. Either one is very easy and cheap to fix. let me know Kimosabe.

Kenmore coldspot refrigerator model 52552100 makes ice but wont dispense it

Below is a fix by another owner of your make and model for the same issue.
Pulled out ice bucket; tried ice dispenser with door latch pressed in and solenoid engaged and motor moved. Tried again and nothing (couple of times). Tried water...all good...good closure of dispensor flap (air pot operated). Opened dispenser (pried off carefully from bottom on this unit not to take off the glued part) and saw the micro-switch broken off of the ice dispenser side. Checked micro-switch (all good). Replaced control bracket...all good to go.

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Side by side refrigerator model 58787892. The ice maker is not making ice. The mechanics of the maker work but it does not fill up with water. The filter is changed regularly...

check to see if the ice tube going into the ice maker is frozen up. you may have to thaw it out to get water to reach the ice maker again. lmk if that's not it

Kenmore Coldspot Ice Maker Modle #106 56622500 I

these have to be in correctly to lock back in and allow the unit to function. Try removing the bin again and be sure there isn't any small pieces of ice trapped anywhere. Also make sure there aren't any broken pieces from the bin. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Trouble with ice-maker

Either the inlet valve is stuck or the icemaker solenoid is shored.

Most likely the second one.

Kenmore Coldspot Ice maker is not working on our side by side refrigerator

Just above the tray that holds the ice cubes is a wire bar. If the bar is down, it will make ice. If the bar is up, it will stop making ice. When there is enough Ice in the tray, when the bar comes downm, it will hit the ice. If the bar is not completely down, no ice will be made.

I bet the bar is stuck, or you don't have a water supply to make ice (or it's plugged - de-ice the freezer).
