I also have a Black and Decker BD-10P that has been a good workhorse of a crosscut shredder for quite awhile now, but it too stopped working a couple of days ago. Since the reverse works, I knew that the motor was not the problem, so, after unplugging it, I took it apart and found that the small plastic lever that engages the auto-start switch on the shredder when you feed paper into it was broken. There was no way to fix the plastic arm that was broken and when I tried the website listed on the owners manual, I got an error message telling me the link was no longer active. I searched for a parts listing for it and since I was not able to find any parts, I fixed it myself. The plastic are would have been easy to replace if I could have found the part, but I couldn't and it is too good of a shredder to throw away. My solution was to clip the wires on the auto-start switch and splice them together bypassing the switch. To use it now, I simply turn the master switch to "Auto" and the shredder turns on allowing me to use the shredder. Once I am done shredding, I simply turn the master switch to the "off" position turning the shredder off. (Not the safest solution, but hey, it works for me and since I don't have any little kids around to worry about I am fine with that. Hope this helps.

Most likely your optic sensor has something in front of it. Clean out the unit really well. It does take time, about 3 different screwdrivers, lon pliers and tweezers and a vacuum or compressed air. After that, learning more new words and swearing to god you will never let this happen again until the third time.

1989 dodge dynasty v6, fwd, transaxle 3 speed auto, good condition, experiencing shift problem, doesnot want to shift into passing gear, sometimes it does, right now it doesn't, any takers

most auto trans don't shift into reverse when low. Reverse takes the most fluid of all the gears.
Check for a bad shift solenoid or wires to and from that circuit. Most trans-axles have them now.

Why doesn't OfficeMax OM99732 shredder work on Auto?

My shredder would not sense paper being inserted and the sensor could not be cleaned. So "Auto" no longer worked but the manual reverse DID work. I opened the thing up, reversed the polarity on the red and black wires on the connector for the main drive motor and VOILA!!! I can use my shredder in manual mode by switching it to REV. Be mindful that this keeps the motor running until it is switched off. This can heat the motor and cause failure so I limit my shredding to 60 seconds then give it a rest so it will cool down. Also there is no emergency reverse so watch your fingers and neck ties.

Work all days yesterday, this morning went out to van, got to work and it would not move, lights come on flash but will not move

The code 6 failure code is the toggle throttle [engager] isn't in the neutral position when power is applied to the scooter. If the engager doesn't return to the neutral position as soon as you turn the key on the scooter would start to move, that woul

Engager
1. Check connections on red, white and black wires at crimps and soldered joints. (Flash Code
7)
2. Use meter to check for:
- White & Red: 5k1 + 10%
- Red & Black: 2.5k1 (approx.)
- White & Black: 2.5k1 (approx.)
3. With meter between Red & Black, squeeze engager forward. Resistance should go from 2.5k
down to 01 smoothly.
4. With meter between White & Black, squeeze engager reverse. Resistance should go from
2.5k down to 0 1 smoothly.
5. Check voltages (with key on):
- Forward - Red- 4.5V + .1V
- Neutral - Black- 2.5V + 0.1V
- Reverse - White - .5V +.1V
If using a Test Harness - White & Red: 5k, Forward - Red & Brown: 2-5k, Reverse - White &
Brown: 2-5k.
1. Use Red & Brown squeeze engager slowly forward 25 down to 0 slowly.
2. Use White & Brown squeeze engager slowly reverse 25 down to 0 slowly. Make sure dial
speed is set to10.

Pto won't engage after it had stalled out when in reverse

Did you take it out of reverse? You need too look closer at the linkage and at wear it gos, look for the switch on the trans mission, it going to work one of two ways positive or negative if it work from ground unplug it and see if it will work, if it doesn't try running a wire from one side of the connector to complete the circuit .

Hello my nane is Tom. The shredder doesn't work. It will run in reverse but when I turn it to forward it run for a second or two than stops. I looked and I can't see anything jamed in it.

I got mine to work by running it on reverse for a moment then sliding it to auto. It stopped. Then I did it again. This time auto ran just for a second then stopped. I did it a third time but I had a sheet of paper ready in the feeder. Ran on reverse. Slid it to auto and it took the paper and shred it. I did it a fourth time. Reverse slide auto and feed shred the paper. Fifth time Auto shred the paper without reverse. :)

I'm pretty sure the auto-reverse is NOT supposed to work during recording. What would be the point since it only records in one direction?

And I'm pretty sure there's only one reverse sensor, usually to the left of the heads and not necessarily on a tension arm. The sensor foil is supposed to be on the non-oxide side of the tape so it will adhere better and never contact the heads.

This picture of a GX-635 shows a typical transport ...

There's a knob for how the auto reverse. Is it set correctly? I believe infinite forward / backward play is possible if you have the knob set properly, a sensor foil on the tape and the tape counter set to 0000 at the beginning of the recording.

why are you guys telling him to check his shift cable when this vehicle uses a hydraulic clutch? it's likely 1) hydraulics are leaking or 2) bad synchros. try replacing the hydraulics and clutch first. if that doesn't work out, you may need your ****** rebuilt.
