Hello! The vacuum does not move up and down when you change the height setting. When the handle is reclined is when the height of the nozzle will adjust. Hope this was helpful!

I don't have a part # for the knob. It is for a Lasko fan. PN# for the fan is 203 5001. Fan Model 1338PH14. since the knob broke, the only way to turn fan on/off is with pliers. Home Depot does not...

often at good hardware stores. there will be a box or drawer with a variety of replacement knobs in it. these are generic knobs designed to fit a wide variety of things, so try and find the drawer or whatever. it may be in the electrical section or it may be with the oddball screws and nuts and things. It's there, but dont ask if they have a replacment knob for a lasco fan, just ask for a selection of replacement knobs Hope this helps, if it does please click the thumbs up

Dyson DC14 roller doesn't turn but everything else works. The belt is on correctly, the roller is clean and it turns manually so I can't figure out the problem.

The DC14 has a "brush control system" operated by a knob on the right side of the base. This knob has two positions: "bare floors" and "carpet". The roller will turn only when the knob is on "carpet", and even then only when the handle is tilted back (with the base still flat on the floor). The problem is that this system uses two belts, only one of which is easy to see. If you're sure that the control knob is in the correct position, and still the roller doesn't turn, then most likely the belt that you can't see is broken (that belt goes from the motor to the clutch mechanism behind the control knob).
Belt replacement on this model is not for the faint-hearted! To get an idea of what's involved, you can go to www.dysonmedic.com then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "DC07 clutch replacement". It's a slightly different model, but the principle is the same. At least you will see how to remove the clutch cover so you can check on the other belt and confirm if this is the problem or not.
I value your feedback, so please remember to rate this response. Good luck!

DCo7 too much suction hard to push

This suggests that the bristles on your brush roller are worn out.  When the bristles are a good working length, rotation of the roller actually helps to pull the machine over the carpet. When the bristles wear down this effect is lost.

the above link shows you how to change the belt on the g-series kirbys but it will apply to the heritage edition as well...the only difference is the color...some of the arrows may be missing on the front belt lifter knob...but they are little differences...

hope this helps!!!
