Have had no problems before but went to turn on burner on decor sooth cooktop and nothing happened... lock light is flashing... usually steady red light when in locked position... pressed it as if to unlock but nothing!

lift the top up ..inspect all burners ..all the small holes ..at the bottom of the burners need to be open an clear ..use a needle /tooth pic to clean them the burners ignite from these bottom holes ..let me know an good luck../joe/
You can try turning the breaker off to the unit for 10 minutes or so but if that does not work you will need a new control board to fix it. they usally range from 100-200 dollars.

Check your warranty first. Some burners on smooth tops had long warrantys. If not first turn the power off to the unit at the breaker. If this is a in counter cooktop it has to come out of the counter and take all the screws out that hold down the top. Best to unwire from house and move whole unit to big surface to work on.
