Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Inconsistent print quality - from black to blurred gray

This inconsistency alternates every other line. I have replaced both the black and colored ink cartridges. I have selected "clean" and "deep clean" on the menu as well as calibrating the print head through the menu. Nothing has fixed this problem.

An "apprentice" responded to my problem saying that a new printhead is needed. I agree with this opinion. However, no one from your technical department has offered a way to obtain a new printhead. I hope that someone can respond. This is very frustrating.

It seems that no one at Kodak's tech support cares about customer service since there are no responses that give a solution to my problem. If I have to replace this entire printer, I will never buy another Kodak product again! I'm sure that no one at Kodak cares about that either.

Please don't say that
kodak is very good and your problem is VERY COMMON
If you call 1.800.421.6699 and select option 01 for prints missing black or color in, Kodak will send you a replacement printhead kit for free.

I have a Xerox 6250DP. it was working fine until I replace the black toner. Now, the quality of impression is poor and the black color appears and dissapears

I bet you used a Generic toner (Mediaq Science?)
this will contaminate the developer and cause poor prints. Vacuum, Replace developer, replace toner (Xerox Brand). Good to go.

Verical lines of inconsistent or un-even printing,

In almost every case, the problem you describe can be traced back to 2 things. Dirty corona wire or dirty drum (or both). Pull out the toner cartridge, slide the wire cleaner back and forth a few times, clean the drum. The gently shake the toner cartridge from side to side to evenly distribute the toner and replace. This should solve your problem. Best of luck.

#5 black ink cartridge skips through the middle occasionally

Replacing the print head
The print head may need replacing if, after all print head and ink tank troubleshooting has been performed:

  • The nozzle test appears broken or to have horizontal white streaks.
  • One or more of the colors is missing from the Nozzle Test.
  • The colors are incorrect on the Nozzle Test.
  • A print head error is indicated on the unit.
  • The printer powers off when the print head is installed.
I hope it helps!!!
