I have a Husqvarna Viking Designer I. The touch screen no longer responds to touch. Is this a motherboard problem and is there a ballpark price that goes with the motherboard?


I would check the Touch Screen first. Your Owner's Manual tells you how to calibrate the touch screen from the SET menu. However if the touch screen isn't working, you can't get to the SET menu. Suggest taking it to an authorized Viking Dealer and they would be able to quickly determine the solution. You can find the nearest dealer by going to the Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us website and click on 'Locate a Dealer'.

I cant use the touch screen.. it wont work


If you have a Garmin 700 series unit, if the screen is not responding properly, Calibrate the touch screen.

Turn the unit off and then back on

Slide Power key to the right ( lock )

Hold your finger on the screen for about 30 seconds until the calibation screen appears.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

1) your screen may be faulty and require repair/replacement
2) Slowness is related to battery condition

The bottom right hand corner of my garmin nuvi does not respond. all the images appear but when i touch the screen, it does not respond.


Sounds like the cable connector to the touch sensitive piece of the screen may be loose. (easily happens if the unit is knocked).

Try taking the unit apart (with care and the right type of screwdriver) and reseating the connector just behind the screen.

Holding the on/off key down for a while will force it to the re-boot/recalibrate screen.

This will probably invalidate your warranty so beware.

Touch screen would not respond

Touch screen stoped responding.


There is a reset button on the bottom of the unit. turn the unit off then pres in the reset when you turn it back on

Touch screen does not respond


Step 1. Turn your Nuvi unit off, remove any SD cards from the SD card slot and make sure that the unit is not plugged into any computer.
Step 2. Place a fingertip on the upper left hand corner of the touch screen and keep it there while turning the unit on, a prompt should read " Do you really want to start in maintenance mode?"
Step 3. Select the yes button.
Step 4. Enter your PIN if enabled.
Step 5. Main Maintenance Mode screen should have 4 selections:
System information
View Diagnostics
Clear User data
Clear Waypoints
Step 6. After some selections the unit should reboot and you check to verify unit after rebooting.

Touch screen not working properly


I'm not familiar with the Zumo family of GPS from Garmin, but if they are similar enough to the StreetPilot, you should be able to recalibrate the screen. In the StreetPilot series, to recalibrate you turn the unit off. Press and hold the bottom right of the screen and turn the unit on. Keep pressing the screen until the calibration information begins. Try this, see if it works on the Zumos, too.
