Solution for systen error E1 00

The error means a problem with the image memory board that is located at the back of the copier. Assuming you have already powered the copier off and on to try and reset the code, unplug the copier and remove the top cover or auto document feeder. The back cover comes off by removing 3 screws on the top of the cover, and a couple of screws on either side. As you are looking from the back of the copier, you will see two circuit boards on the left side, one on top of the other.. Remove the scews from the top board, pull it out slightly and push it back in making sure you have it seated against the board underneath it. Tighten the screws on the board, replace the rear cover and the document feeder. Plug the copier in and turn on the power switch. If you still have the error code, the IMC or Image memory board (the circuit board you just tried to reseat) is bad. You can call your local Sharp dealer for a replacement, but it will cost you a few hundred dollars. Add another hundred if you want them to replace it for you. If the board is bad, consider the cost of repair versus the cost of a new copier.
I have had these IMC boards go bad before, but sometimes just reseating the plug that connects the two boards together resolves the problem..

Photocopier Sharp AR - M207 has an error code E1-00

There is a harness that extends from the scanner unit (the part that has the lamp in it and moves back and forth when you make copies) to the MCU unit ( a large board in the back of your copier). Usually the first thing to chk is that. It is possible your MCU board is bad, or it is possible the connector has come loose, or the IMC board on the scanner unit is bad. You can go online and download the Sharp service manual for your unit and it gives a decent assembly and disassembly diagram that will enable you to see where this harness connects to and from. The cost of that 207 unit is not worth 1200.00 you could replace the entire unit for 2000.00 if you shop online. If you were a sharp techie there are several simulations and tests that could be done to pinpoint the problem otherwise it is a process of elimination. But with that said ...here is what the Sharp manuals says.
E1 00 Content IMC PWB communication trouble.
Detail An abnormality occurs in communication
between the MCU PWB and the IMC PWB.
Cause IMC PWB-MCU PWB harness abnormality.
MCU PWB connector disconnection.
IMC PWB ROM defect/data abnormality.
Check
and
remedy
Check connection of the connector and the
harness between the IMC PWB and the MCU
PWB.
Check the ROM of the IMC PWB.

Here's two manuals for the two Rumba models available; they have two similar to the first one, a Heavy Duty and a Light Duty, but basically the same.
