Try connecting a USB mouse & keyboard DIRECTLY to the back of the server (plugging the monitor directly into it as well) then login directly instead of over the network. Repair may be possible if successful.
Use its ip address or its snap# to browse into it using Internet Explorer ( http://snap30123 ).The default log in is administrator and no password.
If the password is changed, hold down the reset button for 15 seconds and it shoud reset to default.
first be sure that the lost connection is not a cable thing ...or a power cable ...than ...after you have tried another...and still do not work ...just open and remove the bios battery or clear cmos from the jumpers if it is visible on the board... this will make it see all new stuff again ... also may try to run add new hardware wizard from the controls...and make it visible if it was disabled for a reason ....sometimes they are if some bad-s are detected... restoring the default settings from the bios might help to see them too...also check the jumpers for the position that the Hdd is on ...I am referring if you have made changes recently and it is in a master position now ...and it was as slave ..you have to make the changes on the jumpers...in case it is an ide cabled... if it is a sata ..try to see if the raid drivers are not damaged...

i had the same problem with a NAS device. I opened it up and removed the battery and all power sources. I then waited a few minutes and put everything back. The system reset to factory defaults. It now works for me.
I later found out the unit has three ethernet ports. and if the settings are incorrect then the "Gateway" is not found. You may want to connect it directly to a router and see if it gets an ip.
