Question about RCA Audio Players & Recorders
I was playing loudly and after about an hour, it shut off. It will not come back on, only the standby light turns on, the relay clicks but nothing comes on, no display or sound. I checked the internal fuses and the 2 main rectifiers and they are good. I tested and it seems as if the main transformer may be the problem. Not getting any dc current output to the boards. Any ideas what can be done? Repair costs etc?
Very likely that the internal thermal fuse opened on the main power transformer. With the power cord unplugged, Check the resistance on the ac input of the transformer should read less than 10 ohms. Contact me when you know. I might be able to find one.
