Question about Washing Machines
I bought a Bush A126QB Washing Machine from Argos and it was delivered the other day, I took out the packaging bolts and it says on the piece of paper that once I take out the rubber bits a plastic white part will lower so to tilt to the right (or forward according to the other piece of paper) to retrieve said part, I tilted all directions and could not understand which part, so plugged it in anyways and the drum wouldn't spin, so I unplugged it and everything and had a good look. The only things I can see that look like it would come out is four white plastic things covered in grease at the top and bottom of the two piston/armllooking things but I'm quite confused so can someone help please?

SOURCE: machine will not drain and spin
you need a new one of these. i took mine COMPLETELY apart and found the impeller jammed. the impeller is a magnet in a sealed plastic carrier with an electro magnet around it. the electro magnet energizes , the two opposing fields spin the inner magnet ( just like a fish tank filter good idea actually!) the inner magnet on mine had a slight crack from factory causing vibration and allowing debris past the seal then jamming the impeller. to check yours drain it with the small drain tube, then get a towel or two and place around the unit at the floor.pull the large black drain cover off and after the gushing tidal wave look inside. you will see the white impeller. try turning it with w screw driver , pen or whatever. you may be able to remove and then clean / reassemble and be good as new. i only needed two tools to tear the machine apart. a Phillips screwdriver and pliers to get the clamps on the pump (2) and the clamp back on the door to drum gasket.

you will most probably find that the inside of the belt that runs on the pulley has been breaking away bit by bit and if the pulley stops where there is a bit missing it may not turn when the pulley starts to turn.
Just a thought as it has happened to me a few times
The odor is most probably burning rubber as the pulley spins on the belt
