Could be a problem with the graphics card ,loose or faulty lead or monitor has gone bad ??

WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules
Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source. Some of the below steps recommend removing physical parts within the computer. While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE SATA the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure dust free connections and are not faulty even something as small as an electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard or you might try You will need to connect to another monitor or your television to your computer with the vga lead monitor connection. Click start control panel display change display settings adjust resolution this may vary depending on your operating system You should see a no 1 and a no 2 with detect and identify keep an eye on the screen when you select the number tabs this may vary depending on your operating system when you select the no 2 tab this should be the extended desktop always click apply after making any changes. If you can get an extended desktop your monitor is faulty if you cant get an exended desktop Hope this helps.

Based on the specs it looks like this monitor is a CFL type and not a LED type. That means it uses a inverter to power the CFL tubes in the LCD. Usually these go bad after awhile.. usually the capacitors on the board run dry or go bad and need to be replaced. If your not good with soldering you might be able to find a board to replace it with.. more then likely given the monitor size "small" the inverter board is usually built-in on to the power supply board or mainboard and will need to be replaced together but some times comes seperate as it's own board. You might just consider replacing the monitor, LED monitors are pretty cheap now a days and more energy efficient.. and should last longer then most CFL type monitors because they don't use as much current and don't produce as much heat and LEDs tend to last longer with out the yellowing effect of CFLs. However it really comes down to build quality & component quality. While the most likely cause is a bad inverter other things can cause this too..like a bad mainboard sending voltage signal lower then normal to the inverter board.

It means that your monitor is not getting a signal from your PC. Your monitor is fine though. You will need to plug the video cable from your monitor into the onboard video if you are using a graphics card. If you are not using a graphics card then you will probebly need to get a PC technition to diagnose the problem with your motherboard.

Monitor screen begins as computer is booting up and then screen goes black. Message says there is no signal.

If the power light dims or changes color after the no signal message comes up, that means the monitor went to sleep.
While the monitor is plugged in and on and the computer is also on, Try unplugging the VGA cable from the monitor. wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in o see if the power button light comes back to normal color and the screen flashes on.
If not, then the monitor is not getting a signal from the computer.
If using a desktop computer,Try a different cord or try the monitor on another computer.
If using a laptop, you need to activate the laptop to use an external monitor. That can be done through the display settings, OR, most laptops have a shortcut key feature which usually involves pushing the Fn key and one of the F keys at the same time. The F key may say CRT/lcd or have a picture of a monitor and a screen.
If the power light does light back up and still no picture, There may be an internal issue on the monitor

Monitor just wont work. Period.

Your monitor have a bad condensatorin the PSU.

The only thing to do is to replace the Power Supply Unit (very expensive, more than a new monitor) or if you have electronic tools, found and replace that condensator.(cheaper way...)

Anyway, have you tried to replace your VGA card ? The problem could be there too !!

Best Regards!

Why do I get a "No Signal" on my Acer x193w monitor?

sounds like a video card issue.  Check the screen on another computer.  If it is doing the same thing, it is the monitor.  If it doesn't, then you have a video card issue
