Allignment page will not print correctly

The black allignment bars are displayed in a box approx 2" x 1/4" and colour is only yellow in the colour bar segments, athough they are dislayed full width.I have Re- installed the drivers. The scanner previous to installing the drivers would not scan. Printing was O.K. now nothing works as it constantly asks to align cartridges.

Print heads alignment completes after scanning fully printed align page. In this case all colors are not printing due to cartridges faulty.. You need to replace both cartridges at a time to this types of errors..

By "cartridge page" do you mean that you have tried cartridge calibration and then printed the page? Also if you can just upload an image of the print so that I can tell you what has possibly caused the problem.

Cannot detect allignment page

cannot detect alignment page- two possibilities-
1: hen the printer prints the alignment you can physically see the lines and colour shades being printed onto the sheet- this should then be scanned with the electronic eye built onto the carriage assembly- usually one automatic operation- if you can see a good clear image printed ( blocks/lines.boxes) and the printer cannot see the image it stands to reason the electronic eve ( spectrophotometer) is not reading the image correctly or at all, if however there are 'missing' areas of the calibration print then the problem lies with the printing side and I would recommend cleaning/ replacing the printheads as required

Canon pixma ip1000 print black colour with gaps.

Sounds like printing nozzle problems, or the waste ink absorber is saturated. There is step by step guide to cleaning it at

Brand new out of the box HP 6500A Plus, getting "preparing printer" msg , can't do anythin g. What should I do? Jim L.

When the printer is first powered on the printer goes through an internal test and allignment setup. This is normal, it does print a few pages for you to check that it has alligned the ink cartridges.

What you need to do is to ensure that the correct colour ink cartridge is installed in the corresponding colour coded slot. They must each be pushed in and down until their clips engage with the cartridge housing. Also ensure that there is fair amount of paper installed in the paper tray and that the slider of the left of the tray is pushed right up to make contact with the paper.

Connect the USB cable and give it some time to finish its preperation, it takes 10-15minutes.
Install the drivers for the printer, using the disk that came with the printer.

Take care!

Hi. I cant get my printer to allign. I've just replaced the black ink cartridge and when i put the allignment page inside the scanner it wont scan

Did you try to align the unit manually or with the computer?

Alignment page does not print

1 Make sure you remove the sticker and transparent tape from both print

cartridges.

2 Make sure the color print cartridge is secure in the left carrier and the black

print cartridge is secure in the right carrier.
3 Make sure you loaded the paper correctly and did not force the paper into
the printer.

Aligning your print cartridges without a computer

Make sure you follow the steps on the Setup sheet to complete hardware

installation. Continue with the following steps to optimize print quality.

1 Make sure you have loaded paper into the paper support, and then press

and hold Scan for three seconds. For help, see "Using the control panel"

on page 4.

An alignment page prints.

2 Place the printed alignment page onto the scanner glass.

3 Press Scan. For help, see "Using the control panel" on page 4.

Once scanning is complete, your print cartridges are aligned for optimal
print quality.

Why doesn't my A920 injet print colors properly--green comes out pink, and I still have half the ink left in my color cartridge.

1) Could be your printer settings, check out your printer preferences to make sure your not printing a negative or make sure you colour corrections is enabled.

2) If the colour cartridge is a 3 in 1, just one of the colours may have run out. Giving a distorted picture. That means a new cartridge. The best way to check that is to go to your printer tool box and print out a test sheet. There should be 3 colours (Magenta, Yellow and Blue) and Black. If one's missing, the cartridge is out one colour.

I have just installed a new black cartridge. It prints ok from my computer but if I want to photocopy I cannot get rid of the "press enter to align cartridges' message which abhorts after starting

you will have to replace your colour cartridge as some of the colours r missing which r required to complete the allignment procedure.or u can just get your colour cartridge refilled from any local refilling store.so it will get proper colour to complete the alligning

I changed the black ink cartridge as per instructions and the printer printed an alignment paper which i then placed in the printer for alignment but the alignment failed

the page should be absolutely new.and the scanner glass should be absolutely cleaned.and 1 main thing u replaced your black cartridge.but if your colour cartridge is empty it will not accept the allignment complete thing.it will show allignment failed as the particular colour is missing in your allignment sheet which is required to get the allignment complete.

Failure to Allign

This could be the Fuser Assembly. The Fuser is the unit that heats up and makes the toner ahere to the paper. The fact that it is smearing, means that the Fuser is not heating correctly. I would call for service on it.
