If the wireless device is working properly the LED's blink when transfering and receiving data. Even when not in use the ISP modem and the wireless device will blink. I would start by Checking ALL cables in the network, verify the cable connections. Have your ISP verify the signal, if necessary have a ISP tech come out to analyze the signal.

Get so known good cables, splitters, etc., move through the cabling from the place where it comes into the house, to the wireless verifing/ changing each cable, splitter, etc. Sounds like a bad connection/cable. If a copper plug/connection gets oxidized it will degrade the signal, sometimes just reseating the cable will help. I use Electronic Contact Cleaner Spray, you can find most hardware stores.

hi max, i clean and rechecked all cables and cleaned connectors between incoming phone-jack and router. then i restarted the router. the wifi indicators on both of our i-macs still show a constant pattern of "on" and " looking for networks. it stays on "on for about 8 seconds and the looks for about 2 secs. while it is on the download speed is about 300 kb/s and it drops to 10 kb/sec while it is looking. the modem should be getting 11 mb/sec.

Contact your ISP to analyze the incomming signal, have a ISP tech come out to verify the inside signal. Has it worked with the Apple products before? Does it connect using a Ethernet Cable? Take a look at this:http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r2631299...

hi max,i contacted the isp and we checked the download and upload speeds and they were where they should be, the tech pointed out that downloads work much better when you connect your computer to the modem with ethernet ins tea of using wifi like i was doing. he said that competing wifi signals are the cause for this problem.i hooked up the modem to my computer via ethernet cable and it seems to work a lot faster. thanks for your help. hans

SOURCE: loosing wireless connection

It sounds to me like your wi-fi client might be affected by some sort of timeout or overload type kick. Is it just the PC or both the PC and the Xbox?

By "timeout" this could be your "IP Lease" that is too short (look in your ADSL PPP/PPOE configuration)
Otherwise would you be using any P2P software? If so you might want to look in the settings for something called MTU. Set this to something like 1500 then if that doesn't do it reduce it to 1492.

The only other thing I can think of is that your pc might be having authentication problems. Degrade your wi-fi security (go from WPA to WEP) and test to see if that makes any improvements.

Try to look for MTU settings on your 2wire router. Reduce that to 1492 then do a power cycle. Check if that helps your download speed

I have WDF_VIOLATION on my computer and I can't access bios or even start up it keeps shutting down wanting to fix itself but it doesn't

It sounds like you have some type of virus. I have fixed almost all of my computer programs myself with Malwarebytes, SuperAnti Spyware. I did have to use RKill once on a super nasty virus. But, first you need to get the computer working. Here is how to get your computer into SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING (you need the networking to download the software from Malwarebytes or Super Antispyware to fix your computer.)
  1. Immediately after the computer is powered on or restarted (usually after you hear your computer beep), tap the F8 key in 1 second intervals.

  2. After your computer displays hardware information and runs a memory test, the Advanced Boot Options menu will appear.

  3. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking and press ENTER.

My laptop finds wireless router but will not connect to internet

Hi there. You may need to connect to the wireless network manually. What is the operating system running on your computer? If XP, you may follow these. (This is also applicable in other operating system, it may just vary a little) Right click the monitor icon showing on the system tray near the clock. Point the mouse in the icon and it will display the name if it is wireless network connection or network connection. Right click the icon and look for view available wireless network. If it is not showing, look for network connection. Right click and select "open network connection". Right click wireless network connection and select "view available wireless network" . Look for the wireless network you're trying to access or have connection.Highlight and click connect. If encrypted, you need to supply the pass key or security key twice and hit connect. It should allow you now to go online wirelessly. Please remember these, you should be able to go online wired. Make sure that there are other wireless computer connected to the wireless network you're connecting with and can go online wirelessly.

Hope this help :)

I have a Linksys Wireless-G Network adapter (WUSB54G S ver 2). When I plug it in to usb, the power light flickers once and goes off. I have tried plugging it in w/o drivers and have tried again with two...

http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WUSB54GS/download

You may want to download drivers and new updates for this model from the link above. You have to select your version (2) and you'll see the download to your left on the page.

Try plugging it into another USB port.and or another computer if you have one available. Test the USB port with another device to see if it maybe the problem. Also make certain your plugs are snugly in their sockets. But it I think you are right on target with the defective device point of view.
If you ruled out the things listed above...defective.
Hope this helps, please leave rating, thank you

TV switch light flickers 11 times but no function

Hopefully it is only a board component that needs replacing and your dry joints that need re-doing. I would advise that you take it to a television repair shop as this type of repair can be very complex (replacing resistors and capacitors just to name a few).

Next to your clock on your notebook is there an icon that looks like a computer monitor with a radio signal to the right of it?

If so move the mouse over to it and press view available wireless networks.

Im not sure how to scan for it on the Wii. I would check to see if there is a scan funtion on it to look for it.

Does a Wii require a wireless network adaptor or is it built in?

Super G 802.11g/b

ok look in device manager down the list to your wireless card and see if it is listed, if so check that there is not a red cross on it, if so right click and select enable. if a yellow exclamation mark driver not recognised with card. If it is listed and you are unable to enable it restart the pc and press F2 or DEL to enter your bios and on the peripherals menu, see if the wireless controller(if it is built in card) is enabled. If non of the above works, then the code 10 would normally be refering to a faulty peice of hardware.
