Ok this means the AMP is in protection mode!..most likely the cause is a short in your wireing from the speaker wires! check all wires going in and out of amp! Look for stray wires touching metal or other contacts! (If this does not fix it the short may be inside of amp!
(This has nothing to do with a fuse!)

PROTECT means that the amp detected a short circuit on the speaker output, and rather than cook itself to death it switched off the output channel(s)

Unplug your speakers and turn on the amp. If the PROTECT light is still on, then you've blown a fuse (which might be inside the amp)

If the PROTECT light does not come on, then check your speaker wiring and speakers. If you have access to different speakers and wires, try swapping them out to see if you can isolate the component that's failed.

Buttkicker Gamer 2 Amplifier won't turn on, light stays orange when it should be green. used to be a struggle sometimes to get it to turn green by using the remote, now it just stays orange all the...

Your Gamer 2 Amp turns on whenever an audio signal is present on the input. The amp can have trouble tuning on if the output of the source (computer sound card, etc.) has been turned down. This can happen easily if you use amplified speakers - if you turn the sound card's volume control down - and then increase the volume at the amplified speaker - the resulting sound is the same; even though the signal has been lowered. The problem is that the output from the sound card isn't sufficient to turn on the Gamer 2 Amp.

Try turning down the external speaker volume, then bump up the sound card volume. You'll probably need to adjust the other inputs individually (Wave, Mic, CD, etc) so that none is too loud or soft. Once the input values have been set, gradually increase the output of the sound card in the control panel application etc. while decreasing the volume on the amplified speaker to maintain a comfortable level. Eventually, you'll find the correct volume level on the sound card output that will wake up the Gamer 2 Amp.

If you're still having trouble, review the manual, here. I hope this helps & good luck!

Hi, my arcam alpha 7r turns on fine (orange light turns green) when you try and up the volume it clicks out and green goes back to orange, and the rear right hand side gets far too warm. thanks for any...

You may have problems with one of your speakers,or with the wires that go to the speakers.
Try turning it on with no load, remove ALL the speaker wires and up the volume and see what it does.....If the amp does the same with the spakers removed ,it means that the amp is faulty,
if nothing goes wrong connect the speaker one by one until it fails and you will find out which speaker is faulty, Also check the impedance on the spakers to be the same asthe impedance recomended for that amp (If u connected two or more speakers per chanel have in mind that if u put them in parallel the impedance goes down two 8 ohms speakers equal one of 4 ohms)... ,you may be overloading the amp

The RCA output from your mixer is an unbalanced source, and will pick up electromagnetic noise from the environment along with your signal. You can minimize this by running the mixer as loud as you can without clipping, so the amp doesn't have to be turned up as much.

Ultimately though, you'll want to get a sound source (from your current mixer or from a new mixer) that can run balanced wiring to the amp.

Sweetwater has a decent tech tip spread out over two days (day 1 and day 2)

There's also a decent wiki on the topic.

And here's a good page with great content and good graphics, all on a completely horrible yellow background. Good luck!

Be sure to hit the thumbs-up if this helps, and post a comment back if you've got questions!

I have a phonic powerpod 7. the speaker connections are A & B main 1 & the same main 2 in the middle there is 1 1/4 jack socket that says bridge. it says dont connect any speakers to a or b when...

In bridge mode, the left and right amplifiers are in essence connected together. Typically, the speaker connections are to the positive connectors for each channel for this mode. WIth the speakers still connected, you essentially shorted the outputs to ground and smoked the output section. The unit will detect this now and not turn on the output section. Your unit is in what is usually called "protect" mode. This unit will require repair. Expect to have the output transistors replaced at the very least. I would estimate around $16-$40 for parts.

Both clip led light stay on and amplifier is switched on

If the clip lights are on the unit has detected too high an input level. With nothing connected, this indicates a problem in the pre-amp section. Since this happened right out of the box, don't waste time on it. Return this for a warranty exchange.

Setting up my bands new pa!!!

You can work forwards from the mic to the speakers, or backwards from the speakers back to the mic.
The mixer and the amp both should have lights to indicate when there is signal present -- if you don't have lights at the mixer, then you won't have any sound downstream at the speakers. In this case, the problem is with the mixer or the sound source (mic or instrument)

If you *do* have lights at the amp, then the signal is getting that far, and the problem must be with the amp or the speakers.

What does parallel mean on my marathon 3050 power amp?

parallel mean that you connect speakers wire together to amp(positive side with positive side and negative side with negative side)in this situation you got less resistance from speakers and more current.
i mean more sound level.

If all your speakers are good ( try another set to make sure ) and theyre connected good at both ends but your amp is not-being-nice, I would say that it's either a blown output module/output transistors
