Odd white screen

Hi, when i turned on my philips gogear 4gb mp3 player, the screen all of a sudden turns white.

i tried reseting it a couple of times, and that still wont do the trick. i even reseted my whole mp3, and the screen still continues to turn white. is there any way that i can remove the white screen so i can see the actual screen and know where im navigating?

i can hear the music and all, but the white screen just seems to bother me alot

THANKS!!!!

Very likely your firmware is corrupt. The only solution at this point would probably, and I say that b/c this is troublshooting in a posting forum, be to reformat the device. After that, the firmware would need to be reloaded. Hopefully you have backed up your vids , pics and music.

Lithium ion batteries, if allowed to be drained all the way too many times will stop taking a charge.
Replace the player.

Philips GoGear audio video player 4GB...cannot update

Make sure the lock is not engaged.

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
