Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL46HX800 46 1080p LED 3D TV KDL 46HX800 KDL46HX800

1 Answer

I have Sony Bravia KDL-46HX800 3D TV. My Ethernet connection stopped working. I can't get IP, my Sony blueray player doesn't have such problem (it is connected to the same net. switch). TV say

It used to work on static IP address, and stopped suddenly working. My modem and router is downstairs, from router goes cable to 1-st 5port switch, then to the 2-nd 5port switch upstairs, from 2-nd switch to TV and Blue-ray player. Blue-ray has no problem to connect to the router and internet. TV does. I tried strait connection to the router (using crossover Ethernet cable) and nothing. Maybe I should use Strait Ethernet cable? I think, it may be some TV Ethernet adapter problem. Thanks, Marek.

TV setup is giving 2 options: "auto" and "manual" both don't. I tried all possible connections, even to connect TV and mode directly. Still nothing. As I suspected, now I'm almost positive, this is the TV E-port problem. So far I can live with that, my Blue Ray player has no problem to connect to the Internet. Sony wireless adapter UWA-BR100 is little bit expensive, $89.99 + tax. Thanks a lot for trying to help me to solve this problem. Marek.

Yup, I'd say it's the Eport

  • Marek Strzepek Jan 09, 2013

Yup, it is my bad luck. I downloaded new update and instaled it on TV, but it didn't solve the problem. Thanks again. Marek.

Use a straight thru to connect directly to the router. Cross overs are typically used when connecting PC's directly together or daisy chaning routers or switches. Try a different port on the switch? Also from a pc, go to the DOS prompt and try and ping your TV. If your TV IP settings are all correct, and your network equipment is working, your should get a response from pinging your TV. If you don't, I would suspect a problem with your TV Enet port.

It doesn't work, I connected router and TV with strait through cable and there is still no IP. It must be something wrong with the TV Ethernet port. The only solutions are: fix the TV Ethernet port or to buy compatible wireless adapter.

  • Marek Strzepek Jan 07, 2013

Pinging also doesn't work due to no IP address. Thank You for your tips and advises. Marek.

ok, I thought you said you put in a static IP address? Does the TV give you an option for DHCP (to let the router assign the set an IP address)? When you plug the Cat 5 into the router, then plug the other end into the TV set, does the lights on the TV ethernet port light up? Does the lights on the port (router port) light up when the TV is plugged into the router?

  • Back2life Electronics Jan 07, 2013

sorry, I see that it used to work on static IP, DUH

  • Back2life Electronics Jan 07, 2013

If the TV has an IP address within the router's IP range, a correct Subnet Mask, and Gateway (your router LAN Address)settings, it should be working. If the TV gives you a DHCP option, I would try that and see what happens. Outside of that, I think there is a problem with the TV ethernet port. I hope this helps

SOURCE: no signal sony bravia to dell laptop

Most laptops have a combination of buttons you have to press on the keyboard to get it to output on the monitor output. Try pressing the FUNCTION KEY or FUNC/FN key usually found in the bottom left hand side of the keyboard. Keep that button held down while press one of the number keys. Usually the number key will have a picture of a TV screen on it. Might be number 8 or 9. Press both keys at the same time a you can switch between laptop screen, Sony LCD or you can have both..

SOURCE: sony bravia kdl-52w3000, turn tv on, no picture or

Most likely this is caused by a defective main board. Changing the main board will fix the issue about 95% of the time.

To be absolutely sure, the voltages need to be checked on the power supply. If they are not the values listed in the service manual, then you should replace the power supply instead (accounts for the other 5% of the time).

There is a problem with the processor. The only way to resolve this issue is to replace the main board. It is called the A board in your TV.

We have KDL-55EX711 Bravia and want to connect to the Internet. Shaw has given us a wireless modem but we can't connect. Help please!

I too just bought the KDL-55EX711 Sony Bravia and have connected it to the internet. This TV is awesome! To connect to the internet, however, you still need a wireless access point or wireless router to have that the TV can communicate with.

The TV comes with a wireless USB ethernet card "dongle" that you must plug into the USB slot on the side. After connecting the USB wireless card to the TV, connecting to the internet is just like connecting a laptop to a wireless network. You must go to the network settings menu on the TV follow the instructions there to get connected. In a nutshell, the TV will list the available networks to connect to. Find yours and try to connect to it. If your network is secured, you might need to enter a password that you have already set up for your wireless network. Finally you can either enter have the TV ask for an IP address and other settings or enter them yourself. You should not try to enter the IP address and other values yourself unless you know what you are doing.

Hdmi port stopped working on sony bravia KDL-32L4000, when I connect my ps3 or direct tv trhough hdmi cables I will just get a blank screen that will say no signal.

I have a Sony Bravia model KDL-46s5100 that had the same problem. All HDMI ports stopped working. I don't know why this works but unplug the TV for about 30 sec, then plug it back in and hold down the power button on the tv for 10 seconds. Like I said I don't know why this works but it worked for me. Good luck.
