Panasonic crt tv model sx2 no sound but there is picture on the screen and channel are working

just simply check the speaker, if its working then you have to proceed to next level of troubleshooting, check audio ic in physical appearance, you can recognize audio ic by just tracing where the speaker being connected.Next is energize your tv and get a multi-tester set to 50VDC range and check if there's a supply of about 12V,if its ok then set the multi-tester to rx10 ohmmeter range touch the black prod and then the red test prod to every pin of the ic one by one if you heard a humming sounf at the speaker it indicates normal operation of the audio section.there's a problem with the signal.

Picture ok sound through head phones only

Check the speaker/s. If the audio output by headphone is OK, and there is no audio output by the speaker; either the speaker or the audio output stage circuit will have the fault. Contact any service technician.

Speaker goes on and off

Check to make sure there are no loose connections going from the speaker to the PCB as well as checking the speaker soldering if they used solder or quick connectors. If there isn't I would then start testing components in the audio section of the PCB. You can also test your speaker with a multimeter but I'm thinking the speaker might not be the problem.

KP61S75 has 45* angled stripes.

1? you must test the power supply, the absence of this cause a LOT of problem, test a= fuse, filter, c.breaker rectifier.
2) test the tuner, i-f, video detector, AGC, section
3) if the tv has external POT adjustment for vertical, horizon, do it carefully.
4) tight any wires connector loose, or bad contacts.
God bless you

No Volume. Mute is not on. Volume control is at normal level. Tried leaving the TV off for awhile but still no sound.

If there is no volume in your TV, and mute fuction si in off position, and the picture is ok. there are two possibilities. The first one is, speaker of your TV is damaged. The second one is audio output Ic in your TVs inner circut board failed.
You just open your TV taking after every prcautions when we take before working with an electrical equipment. Keep children away from you, and let an adult beside you. Plug out your TVs mains chord out of wall socket, and never use a matal chair or a chair fabricated with metal. Do wear a rubber or plastic shoes, and not try to work with bare foot.
At first be sure whether the speaker is out or not. It can be tested without opening your TV. I suggests these, keeping in mind that your TVs picture is Ok. If not the problem may differ. Keep your ear very near to the speaker side of your TV, and swith it on with mains supply, and listen there is any sound or just a "thumb" sound is heard from the speaker. If there is no "thumb" sound, surely the speaker is damaged. Replacing it with same type and impedence [ie 4 ohms, 8ohms, 16ohms etc, will be marked on its magnet], will solve your problem.
If there is no sign or any sound, or just a "Hum' sound is prodced, the audio output Ic of your TV is damaged, or it is not getting the proper supply voltage to the respective supply pin. If there is a "Hum' sound produced from speaker, it is clear that your TVs audio Ic gets voltage, but it has damaged.
To repace it, you just follow, the two wires to your TVs speaker. It will go to the main board of a sub board which audio Ic is fitted. Normally this Ic will be screwed into a metal heatsink to runout the heat generated from it while working. Just desoder it, unscrew and take it out. Go for the same type and number. "Insist on same type and number. never try to use any substitutions, as it may effect the quality of sound". Solder it to the point. That is all.
Wish you success
If you have any further doubts, report to Fixya. They will send me alerts. Ok

How to troubleshoot speaker

Hello sir, Hi!, the garble is caused by two things, 1. a bad speaker, 2. a bad power amplifier IC.

To test the Speaker,
Remove the speaker out from the TV, (this needs disassembly stuff) test it using any available portable amplifier. or radio, OR replace the speaker with the same size.

If this does not solve the garble sound, replace the power amp IC. (this really needs skills in electronics.) thats it.

No sound for my tv, picture is ok, speakers ok.

Start to check if it is in mute or volume is in 0 level first. Or check also its sound source setting. If this does not help check the electronic side.

If speakers ok, check wires to it. This will also down to the amplifier side after the wiring and speakers are ok.

If you are not inclined in electronics, have it service by a qualified one.

RCA TV F36718 with V-port

That crackly sound could be the flyback transformer sizzleling. if thats the case the horiozontal output transistor is probably bad as well. This repair should be done only by a quilified service person and shouldnt cost over 200 bucks if that much UNLESS of course it was the power sullpy shorting out but most likly in this set what i mentioned. Good Luck
