Hello Everyone,
I believe I have installed the humidifier and wired it correctly. I wired the HUM terminal to the humidistat and from the humidistat to the humidifier. I then ran the C to the humidistat and then from the humidistat to the humidifier. I even made sure I hooked each to the correct terminal on the humidistat (on the backside, they were marked C and N-on or something like that). When the thermostat calls for heat and the humidistat is turned on, the furnace cycles correctly, but when the blower fan tries to cycle, it does for about a second and then the furnace goes into shutdown mode and trips the 15amp breaker at the panel. If I disconnect the wiring, the furnance works as normal. What am I missing? Any advice? I guess I would just like to bypass using the sail switch and transformer. (From what I've read, the HUM terminal provides 24V without the need for the transformer..or am I confused...which is certainly possible :-)
Thanks for any help you can offer!
It is best to use a seperate transformer for the hummidifier, but in some cases you can use the low voltage t-stat wire that runs your furnace, you will need to have one wire run to common, and the other to the heating side of your low voltage, normally its the red wire hooked to the w circuit of your terminal board, if you do decide to go with an extra transformer, make sure you you have it wired to bring on the humidifier only when the unit calls for heat, hope that helps

Still scratching my head here. My transformer that was in my kit is the plug in type transformer. So, I would need to keep the wiring the way it is, but plug the transformer in and wire it to the humidistat?
Here's how my wiring is now...
Maybe I should just use the sail switch and not get all crazy with the control board so I don't burn the house down. :-)
white wire to humidistat white wire to humidifier from the transformer and one red wire from humidisat to humidifier it will not run automatically, but it will run when you turn on the controll knob from humidistat why is that to you it is probably simole can you explain this problem of the matter
