I cannot get mt Logitech Quickcam to work. I have the disk but it will not install the drivers. The model number is MN-V-UAM27A

Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for RAM memory, Operating system and hard drive space. You probably need at least 512 Mb of ram to run it properly.

Here are some links to some of the documentation available for the model number you quoted:

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/28493//session/L2F2LzEvc2lkL1R0M25GSXJr

http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/435/222?WT.z_sp=Image&osid=1&bit=32

I do not believe the utility program that came with your webcam (QuickCam 8.4.8) is compatible with windows Vista or Windows 7. See the following compatibility chart for details:

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3428/section/troubleshoot/crid/435/lt_product_id/222/tabs/1,3,2,5/cl/ca,en/kw/

The easiest way to install it properly is to go to the Logitech Support website and run their Hardware Auto Detect utility which will automatically detect what operating system you have and what webcam you have plugged in and will direct you to the correct driver download and install page.

You can find the Logitech Support site at the following link:

http://www.logitech.com/support-downloads

Good luck.

Why won't my logitech V-UAM27A work on my new windows 7 and how do you fix it? JSL

Have you tried installing the webcam drivers? Windows 7 supports a lot of webcams by default, but if it is not working, you can try installing the Logitech drivers. If there is no W7 driver, try using a Vista driver, or even the XP driver and run the setup in XP compatibility mode.

Hey, webcam problems

e cause of a Web Cam's microphone to stop working can be either a hardware issue or a result from incorrect configurations. Recommendations:
Determine whether it is a hardware problem by testing the microphone in Sound Recorder.

  1. Click "Start," > "Programs" ("All Programs" for Windows XP) > "Accessories" > "Entertainment" > "Sound Recorder."
  2. Click the Record button and speak into the microphone of the camera. You should see the green line move, indicating the application is picking up sound.
  3. Click the Stop button.
  4. Click the Play button. If there is no sound at playback, check to make sure the correct device is selected.
    1. Click "Edit," then "Audio Properties."
    2. Make sure Logitech is listed as the Preferred device for "Sound recording."
We also recommend using the camera on another USB enabled system.
If you can record sound in Sound Recorder, but not in the QuickCam application, try setting the Logitech Microphone as the Preferred device in Audio Properties.
Additional Information:
Multimedia keyboards that have the ability to control your computer volume may have software that can interfere with your webcamera's sound. If you have a Multimedia keyboard with volume control, the keyboard's software may need to be uninstalled in order for the camera's microphone to work properly in Windows.

Haveing trouble installing logitech quick cam onto my comuptor thats running windows vista

This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between Windows Vista and Logitech QuickCam Messenger.
Logitech QuickCam Messenger was created by Logitech, Inc..
Recommendation
—————-
To search for similar devices that are compatible with this version of Windows, visit the Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List website online.
However, it’s not totally out of hope for owner of Logitech QuickCam Messenger who has upgraded to Windows Vista. The following hack will use Windows XP driver (a common trick to use non Vista compliant device) to install the webcam in Vista:
  1. Download QuickCam 8.4.8 with driver for WinXP.
  2. Install WinRAR if not already installed yet.
  3. Open the setup installer qc848enu.exe and unpack its contents to a folder. Alternatively, right click on qc848enu.exe and select “Extract to qc848enu\” option.
  4. Insert or plug in the Logitech QuickCam Messenger to a USB port if not already done so.
  5. An “Driver Software Installation” icon in systray (notification area) should appear, which will pop up detailed message if click. It should fail, and “Add Hardware Wizard” dialog window will appear. Choose to install the driver manually by instructing the Wizard to locate and look for the web cam driver inside the Drivers folder under the unpacked folder of the qc848enu.exe setup program. You can use browser button to select the folder.
  6. Windows Vista should grab the XP driver and install it properly.
  7. Download the latest version (10.5.1) of Vista compliant QuickCam software from Logitech to install the software on Vista.
  8. Run the setup (qc1051enu) normally. You may need to skip the detection of webcam near the end of installation process.
Voila, you can now use the Logitech webcam to capture images or use it in conjunction with video chat in IM programs such as Windows Live (MSN) Messenger, AIM Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Skype or run Logitech VideoCall.

i hope thist post can solve your problem

thank's

Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 using Vista

Assuming you installed the Vista driver and not the generic driver in windows, you would also have to set up the sound in the individual IM programmes. If you have installed the driver but accidently let the pc use a generic one, uninstall the camera software and download this driver and install, ensuring that wherever you download it to is where windows looks for the correct driver. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1794,contentid=11022 If you still have no luck, try using the xp driver that will probably be on the cd rom you got with the cam. Lastly, not all camera makes perform correctly on all makes of pc, it's hit and mis so if the cam does not work under any circumstances, return to the retailer and exchange for a different make.
