Itunes8 doesn't work on my computer

Just got IPOD nano and went to itunes. Downloaded version 8 and I try to click on music when the site comes up and it comes to a window saying that itunes is having a problem shouls I send it to windows or not. I did plug my nano in and download software to help download the music. I ended up downloading the Safari that the site recommended.
And then I ended up not using it and going back to the internet explorer.
I still am lost. I do have the itunes 5 on my add/remove files.

This happens alot with xp

First go into the control panel,add/remove programs, uninstall quicktime media player and itunes if it is there.
restart your computer.

Go back to apple.com and download and save it to the desktop.Once the download is complete,
close everything you have open, and run the installer from the desktop.

Hi,

Try the following procedure.

first, head into your start> control panel >Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime.if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attendto itunes.

next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. useit to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installationconfiguration information from the PC.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/ (Copy ans paste the link in internet explorer)

next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover itunes and quicktime program files:

Removing iTunes and QuickTime for Windows

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925?viewlocale=en_US

now try to install itunes again. does it go through properly this time?

If not then also try installing latest windows installer software

(Sometimes an iTunes entry or QuickTime entry doesn't show up incleanUp, in conjunction with a missing .msi message, if there's anolder version of the Windows Installer on the PC.)

I want to download certain songs to my new Ipod shuffle. I do not want to download everthing Is there a way to choose which songs you want to put on your ipod?

The only songs you can download have to come from the iTunes store. Set up an account with a credit card, and you can order single songs, albums or videos, plus some free content. Some albums are sold as whole albums, but that is not the norm.

If you have music on your computer, you can download iTunes to it, and try and drag tracks by having the iTunes window open to your iPod, and the other pane open to your music. Highlight and Right Click Drag - Copy here.

The legit way is to pay Apple $38 to allow you to put non iTunes music on their device.

How to reset my combination lock number on ipod A1236

Hi William
If you have forgotten the code or put the wrong code in your ipod, you can unlock the Ipod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one Ipod synced with), and open iTunes.
When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock Ipod using either (the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs). . . you can restore your ipod to factory settings using ipod Updater.
Please note that this will erase all data on your ipod.
Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your ipod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your Ipod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted.
Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your ipod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
If you can't unlock your ipod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the Ipod, which will erase all music and data.
Please take time to rate me

My ipod is just playing without the sound carrying through to the speakers. I dont know how to make it work?

Verify there is nothing plugged into the headset port, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
Original iPhone only: While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris in the headset port:

To remove debris in the headset port, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset port and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times.
If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (choose Settings > General > Bluetooth).
If that doesn't work, try restarting the iPhone. Hold the Sleep/Wake button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on.
If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.

My headphones connect with the adapter, the blue light is on on both but nothing comes from the ipod. I have performed the factory reset but it still doesn't work. The headphones had worked fine and then...

I have same issue....just took my transmitter apart - the wires connecting the male jack to the silicon board are frayed, disconnected.....you might check that...it's only 2 small screws holding the outercase together....be careful though

Can't get my computer to discover my s9 headphones. There are no other BT devices connected. The blue light is on...

What bluetooth adapter are you using on your computer? Get the manual for the S9 from the Motorola web site: it will tell you that the blue light is related to mono voice/microphone, and flashing green is all about stereo musioc, no microphone.
So what are you trying to do with your S9?
On your computer it can be hands-free, or a stereo headset. It has two personalities, and you should see the two modes in your bluetooth configuration screen on the PC.
From what I see in the Motorola manual, if you click the right ear button for "Play/pause" it is supposed to kick the headset into A2DP stereo playback.
