Question about Troy-Bilt Blower/Vac 31cc, 200 MPH, 405 CFM

1 Answer

Hello, My 31 cc troy built blower won't start. It's got spark. When I pulled the brand new plug it appeared to be completly dry. I sprayed ether in the cylinder and put the plug back in and it started for a brief moment. Not sure what's going on. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If the either burned, then you have a fuel problem. Make sure the fuel filter (in the tank) and the lines are all clear. If so, then you my need to rebiud the carburator.

Troy bilt sequall 2100 will not start. has new plug

Is the gas making it TO the new plug? Pull it over a dozen or so times on full choke and then pull the uh to see if its wet meaning the engine is getting fuel. Also make sure the safeties and off switches aren't preventing it from starting

My blower stops working after a few minutes and then shuts off

When it shuts off pull the plug wire and using a spark tester see if yo still have spark. If you have no spark you probably need a new coil. If you stil have spark put the plug wire back on and spray a little ether *(product usually called "instant start") and see if it starts momentarily. If it does your carb is in need of a cleaning. Most have tiny screens that plug up over time. Replacing this screen is recommended. Cleaning almost never works!

Tb320bv blower, I can set the choke and start it but it will not run. As soon as the choke pops off during acceleration the blower dies.

This would indicate that you need a new diaphram in the carby not very expensive any mower shop will do for about $30

How do you adjust the carburetor

There is probably no adjustment. They don't want ordinary guys work'n on their own stuff any more...Lol. If you are having carb. problems try this:

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

You willneed to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Makesure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylightthrough it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.

Pocket bike prblems

Get some engine starting fluid and spray a small amount in the air intake. If that doesn't work take out the spark plug and see if it sparks when you pull the cord and make sure it is not fouled. If it is wet with fuel dry out the plug and pull the cord a few times to clear the cylinder. Fresh premium fuel always works best on temperamental engines.

I have a Troy-Bilt 31cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered that doesn't start

Coil bad or wire to coil bad. I tell everyone what Ill tell you, when it comes to small engines, troy bilt, poulan, weedeater brand all JUNK,JUNK JUNK! Theyre made cheap, not built to last, theyre throwaways. Carbs are made in china. If youre ever in walmart next time go back to the garden section and pick up a weedeater or poulan brand chainsaw or trimmer. Look at the package good and look at the factory life expactancy. Its not in months, not even days, but in hours. If I was you I would tell myself NO MORE! I would buy a dolmar or stihl, pay the extray, cause you wont be aggrevated in the long run. P.S. Dolmar offers a 100% coverage for ONE YEAR on all equipement.

The leaf blower won't start and I did change the spark plug and last time it run for like 30 sec. before it shut down again.

Main cause of small gasoline engine failure is carburetor clogged. Try spraying carburetor cleaner into carburetor and intake. Check if unit has air cleaner. If engine starts briefly with cleaner then carburetor needs manual cleaning. Carburetor removal and overhaul.
