Suspected rear wheel bearing problem, but is there a second bearing just at th drive shaft on the rear rhs that could be causing the noise.? 2005 freelander td4. Thanks billy

Hi Billy

If it is just a wheel breaing then it's not to much to worry about, they are fairly cheap and easy to do, the other bearing is from the 4 wheel drive system is is somewhat more problematic worst case is the diff / gearbox may have failed, does the wheel drive work well? is the noise more or less when in 2 wheel?

there is a few possiblities so get back to me with more info and I will be able to help.

Regards

Dan

Front wheels don't work in 4 wheel drive

I assume this has auto hubs. There should be either a plug going to the front axle, or a plug with vacumn lines on it. Either way the contacts should be cleaned first. Start there and let me know. It ends up with dirt and debris and interfers with the contacts. Billy
