-ALL lcd tvs, except for latest units with LED backlighting ,use from
two to six or more CCFL lamps-any of which can fail-causing darker bands on sceen since failed CCFL CANNOT illuminate screen area
-IF none of CCFLs illuminate OR if reddish tinge on startup, one or
more ccfls are failing-OR INVERTOR section failing-where INVERTOR board gets juice from power supply and ups voltage to >1500 v AC
-just like flourescent tube-but ccfls "might" be integrated into lcd panel itself-to make "slimmer"
-either problem is EXPENSIVE FIX-so newer LED backlit units better since leds are more reliable, last longer AND reduce power consumed

it means your xbox is overheating, you can send it back as they extended the warranty on it for this common fault unless you have modified it, in which case look up ring of death on youtube.

My xbox has a three light red ring

Let's unplug and reconnect your power supply
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of your console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and the power supply unit.
Reconnect the power cord to the console. Then plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the power supply unit.
  2. Make sure that all three connections are firmly secured.
  3. Turn your console back on.
Check the light on the power supply. If this solution worked, your power supply light will be green and the power button will look like this:

Console will not turn on. light is neither red or

Since you said the light isnt red or green im assuming its not glowing at all, and in that case you most likely over worked your adapter like i did. All you need to do is unplug the cord thats connected to a gray box from your Wii, and follow the cord out the other side and unplug it from the wall. The gray box is the adapter and if you leave it unplugged for a couple hours then hook it back up to the wii, the light should come back on, although in my case the light is now yellow when its off instead of red.

Desktop shutdown. will not come back on. Green light flashing.

Clarify please:

can you hear the hard drive running ? see the cpu cooling fan spinning ? operate the cd/dvd drives, see nothing on screen though.... yellow standby light not the solid green light.

Red Light on Plug in connecter thing

Sounds like there is something wrong with the Xbox 360 power supply, try unplugging the Xbox 360 power supply from the console and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet also unplug the Xbox 360 power supply from the power cord. Give it a minute then reconnect it all back, also try it on another wall outlet without any extension cord at all.

If it's still red that suggests fault with your Xbox 360 power supply so will need to contact Xbox 360 customer support if its under warranty they should be able to sort it out for you. If out of warranty it might cost you for a new power supply!

I just replaced the battery and power cord on my Compaq Presario 900 US Laptop, I plug in the power cord, the green light comes on, but the battery light just flashes, and I can't turn the computer on. ...

Try laptop without battery first to see if powers on. Could be memory issue of battery as might have been off for a while. Place battery back in if starts up. Then see if charging up and if computer switches on or off.
If fails again, unplug power and battery and open underneath the where the memory is located and try to unplug memory and plug back in. Try power supply then. If works, great! If not, you will have to take into a service center to check inside if motherboard or battery need replacing.
