Question about NRS Hoveround MPV 5 - Used Power Wheelchair

Open Question

Hoveround won't go forward

I tried to go forward on the lawn, forward stopped and now will only go backward. Is there a fuse or a reset that has tripped in case of too much resistance with forward?

The right rear wheel intermittently locks up on my lawnmower when going forward stopping forward movement temporarily, until I move it backwards to "unlock" it. Any ideas?

There is an excellent 3 part video that may help you to fix this problem. Please see the 2nd and 3rd videos:
https://youtu.be/Vk_tpjKlbjM
https://youtu.be/DdiewLxTQDc
Things you can try:
(1) Remove casing over rear wheel drive assembly and perform a test run to assure all parts are moving as expected
(2) Lubricate the shafts with lightweight motor oil where the shaft penetrates into the gear box of each wheel
(3) Remove each rear wheel, inspect gears for damage and free movement. Grease up each drive gear and the shaft.
(4) Inspect gears on each wheel for damage.
(5) If none of the above fixes the problem, try swapping out the front wheels to the rear wheels provided the front wheels can accommodate the gearing on the rear wheels
(6) If this doesn't work try replacing the small gear assembly on the right rear wheel
These steps are illustrated in the videos.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Wont work or come on

Debbie,
If nothing is coming on with no lights or anything you probably have a blown fuse. Unplug your microwave and turn it around and remove the screws holding cover on and then remove the cover. Look for where the power cord goes into the back of the unit and follow the black wire from the cord to where it ends. It should stop an either a circuit board or a fuse holder. Make sure that you replace the fuse with the same amperage fuse as what you take out. You will find the amp rating stamped on one of the silver collars on each end of the fuse. Good luck!

The car won't go forward or backward

Lift up all the wheels one by one, rotate each wheel and check which wheel resists to rotate. Disassemble the jammed wheel and carefully examine to see why is it so.
Grease the caliper pins, free up the pistons and reset the brake components.

Can anyone help? My Cub Cadet LT1045 won't move (foward/backward).

Hi, check that the drive belt, pulleys and shafts are all ok and that they are actually driving the transmission, hopefully you will see the problem. If the transmission is driving ok and the fwd and reverse lever is functioning as you said, the transmission may have failed. Also check the hydro release lever is functioning. Regards Phil.
