devices: Any Projection TV with a Convergence Amp board
If I knew which Mitsubishi Projection TV you're looking at, I could help quite a bit more. In general, the "convergence chips" on a typical Convergence Amplifier board are actually two STK's mounted to large heat sinks. "STK" is electrical engineering slang for "Convergence Amplifier Integrated Circuit".
convergence ic stk----- you can repair this yourself if you can solder you can obtain ic.s from matt electronics or any electronic suppliers locate the convergence ic.s on chasis there will be 2 the number will start with stk- most likely stk-392-110 hope this helps
Hi, the "trick" to this is you don`t need the samsung part number because the stk 392-040 is actually made by Sanyo, call this number and you`ll get exactly what you need 1-800-575-9833 there in Orlando, Fl. and only sell original Sanyo stk``s which is what came in your tv, make sure you check for burnt resistors around those stk`s before installing and powering up your set with the new stk`s, video-tek
Sounds like the classisc case of convergence amp ICs needing to be replaced. What is the model number of your set and I will post the STK numbers you need as well as a place to get replacements with free instalation instructions
the rca itc222 chasis uses no stk the convergence is controled with transistors... the convergence amp board is located above the main signal board(green board)... it can be identified as the one with several heat sink fins on it. FL231 is related to convergence.. there has been a problem with this fuse when it blows the processor doesnt know it is a projection set so it turns it into a regular tube tv. Here at the shop we have found number one reason this fuse blows is poor solder connection on the flyback. So replace the fuse and reflow the solder connection on the flyback and around that area also the horizontal transistor and then see if that doesnt fix the problem.. if you have an more trouble ..... firstname.lastname@example.org
There are a number of different STK type parts. You need to look
on the old ones for the part numbers. May have to dissassemble
the heatsink to see the number. STK is pretty good about its
numbers and you should have no trouble finding them.
if you can remove the rear panel assy. look for the convergence ic's they start with stk--- and you got the part number you need a source panasonic is 814 source and the number on the ic's stk 390 ----/
