My desktop pointer divice will not open anything just keeps trying

When I click on my desktop icons the pointer arrow turns into a blue moving circle that wont stop until I restart my computer. It will not open anything on my desktop, but if I click in the task bar on Internet Explorer it works and opens google search; then I have to search for my item I have on my desktop and open them that way. Try shutting down ALL unnessary running programs. Use CCLEANER freeware at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/. This will clean the junk from your machine. In the TOOLS section, STARTUP page, disable ALL Unnessary startup programs. Open the Task Manager to see what is using all your memory/processor resourses. Runa Full Scan with MALWAREBYTES freeware : http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install, UNCHECK the PRO TRIAL version, you want the freeware version. Remove ALL unnessary TOOLBARS from your broswer, they are killers on broswer speed.

SOURCE: Desktop and Task bar disappearing

You computer is infected by the spyware virus try to run in the safemode and download and install spyware doctor of pctools also the registry mechanic this two utilities is very helpful in term of spyware virus. But sometime if your computer infected by the UST.AVI virus you cannot install any program even the anti virus. The virus automatically close any program you install to prevent the anti virus to install in the system. If this happen the only way to salvage the files is reinstall the windows in the other directory then after you finished install windows. You can copy now the the files in the old directory copy of the windows your needed files. and delete the old windows directory permanently.

SOURCE: task-bar & start-menu disappeared

Just do as I say - it will be ok and sort itself out - the screen will not go blank and the drivers are still installed in Windows and will just be reinstalled, thus associating themselves with the card again. No internet connection is needed and the drivers will be reinstalled automatically without the need for user input.

To gain access to that which is 'off screen' push the mouse against the edge of the screen and it should move the display into view

Once I turn the computer on it only shows a blank screen. I am able to see the mouse arrow move but I am unable to get to my desktop or anything else. What do I do?

If you can see the mouse arrow, the display adapter is working. Try right clicking on the desktop. If you get a popup display, select the VIEW option, and another popup should appear next to it. Look at the bottom of the list and ensure that the "show desktop icons" selection is checked. If not, click on it and see if the icons return.

Move your pointer to the bottom of the screen until it turns into an arrow. Click and hold left button and drag up. If you want, after the task bar is back up, you can right click on it and select LOCK THE TASKBAR. That way you can't accidentally move it down again.

How do you eject after downloading music. I can't find the underlined up arrow.

On the lower right hand corner of your desktop, you may see a downward pointing green arrow (this is the "Safely Remove Hardware" option). If you do not see it, click on the little blue circle with a left-pointing arrow to uncover any hidden icons - you will probably find it there.
