Get rid of AT&T and get a new provider that works. AT&T and LIVE don't go together.

SOURCE: Xbox 360 - Oblivion IV - loading probs

Next time the game is loading, try clearing out the cache. You can do this by holding down the A button while the game loads. When you see the Oblivion title screen come up, your cache should be cleared. This may clear up your issue. If that doesn't do it for you, you can try to clear the cache out another way. There are many websites that can assist you with that. When in google, search for: Clear XBOX 360 cache. Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: xbox 360 keeps blacking the screen out for about 1

Hi, your X-BOX is overheating. this will continue to progress. Read the following details below to combat this issue before it ruins the gpu.

Alternativly Overheating can be cause by the console locking up or "freezing" after a set amount of time. Lockups that occur at a specific point in a game are generally problems with the game itself and not caused by overheating.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Let the Xbox 360 console cool.
Note You may have to wait several hours for the console to cool enough. Do not turn on the console when the console is hot.
  2. Verify that the console has sufficient ventilation and that the fan is operating. For more information about ventilation, see the "More Information" section.
PREVENTION SUGGESTIONS
To try to prevent this problem, use the following precautions:
  • Do not block any ventilation openings on the Xbox 360 console.
  • Do not put the Xbox 360 console on a bed, on a sofa, or on any other soft surface that may block ventilation openings.
  • Do not put the Xbox 360 console in a confined space, such as a bookcase, a rack, or a stereo cabinet, unless the space is well-ventilated.
  • Do not put the Xbox 360 console near any heat source, such as a radiator, a heat register, a stove, or an amplifier.
DO NOT EVER PUT YOUR CONSOLE IN THE FREEZER OR OUT IN COLD WEATHER
Some people think that doing this might help "fix" an overheating console, in fact doing so could cause even bigger problems. Electronic devices like your console are made to function at and around room temperature, extreme cold temperatures can often cause just as many problems as extreme warm temperatures (such as overheating). Also if the console is located in a dramatically cold area while running, the difference in temperature between the hot console and cold air can create condensation which in turn will short out your console making the situation far worse. Condensation will happen more quickly if your console is overheating due to the greater difference in temperature. In short... DON'T DO IT.

A more aggressive Solution to overheating is to improve the cooling system of the console. The best solution is to replace the thermal compound. If you attempt this you do so at your own risk. If you're console is still under warranty it is recommended that you contact MS for a replacement before attempting to fix it yourself.

SOURCE: my connection for my xbox live makes me lag. It

I heard about clearing the cache, but it has nothing to do with your xbox live connection. Perhaps you need a faster connection from your ISP or it could be that their are too many ppl using the internet around your area. Try playing at night or mornings, thats when the network isn't so bad.

SOURCE: Ping is high at closest server. But low at servers much further

hello there i have built many wifi networks and install networks for server hosts.
I would try setting your port forward to the correct port that xbox live runs on.
also uncheck Qos (quality of service) this will throttle bandwidth, you want this off.

I have frontier services with a net gear modem/router i was told by xbox live to get a d-link router an it would help my problem with running 2 xbox 360 with no lag whats so ever but dont know what im...

well, unless the D-link is also a modem/router, I don't see how ADDING the D-link router to a lagging network will reduce said lag. They probably wanted you to REPLACE the current router with that one.....

will "frontier service" allow that router to be set in a "modem-only" setting ? You'll have to get with them on that. as for the D-link, there are manuals as well as an Online Emulator that simulates the Router interface so you can see how to set it up....BEFORE you set it up !

[PS: tracking-down lag problems can be tricky....you should be experiencing bad lag with all sites for it to be your hardware....

When i play my xbox 360 im getting a lag...my friend said i should have a setting to prevent this but im not sure which one it is or how to do it..

Everyone experiences lag from time to time. Lag is often the Xbox (Microsoft) servers themselves, however if you are always the lag source, then there are several potential issues and/or solutions:

1) Open/Closed NAT (Network Address Translation): Your NAT should be set to open or not restricted. This is not a console setting. You must log into your router to change this setting. Typically this will fix your issue (especially if game chat or joining is impacted).

Additional changes: Note: If you do not know how to make changes within your router, then get help from someone who does (parent, or write back with your router brand and model number and ask for assistance).

2) Within your Router ENABLE the UPNP setting.

3) Another option: Within your router, assign your console a static IP address. Then set up port forwarding for the following ports: 88 UDP and 3074 UDP & TCP. This way you can keep NAT closed, but allow unrestricted internet traffic to xBox.

4) If using wireless network adapter, unplug it and run a CAT5 cable from the Xbox directly to the router. If your lag issue goes away, then there could be interference with the wireless traffic. If interference, then log into router and change the broadcast channel.

5) High speed internet and traffic: You really need high speed internet (cable or DSL), close proximity to the router and bandwidth to fully enjoy online gaming. If there is a housefull of net users (Youtube, movies, music, gaming, etc..) then you can expect lag issues.
Upgrade to a higher speed package. 3 or 8 Mbps download is fine if you are by yourself, but with lots of activity, then you need 16 to 30 speed (which is really volumetric capacity and not speed). Check your download/upload speed at www.speedtest.net

6) Make sure your Modem (not router) is DOCSIS 3 and not the older DOCSIS 2 versions. Ask your ISP to check your connection for any potential problems. They can typically read this from their end.

7) Check all cable connections coming into the house, all the way to the Modem. If DSL, then check phone lines and filters.

8) Finally, and I am sure this never happens, if surfing off of a neighbors system, then stop mooching and buy your own! ;-)

Hope this helps!

I have a 2wire 2700hg-b modem/wireless router, my problem is i get lag while playing xbox 360 online, i get red bar to none , while my friend have all green bar,in the tv screen, also my laptop lose signal...

yeah a better modem would be the easiest thing to do because it's clear that the one you've got is either not transmtting properly or is just the unit you'vee got has a fault in it

Xbox 360 lag whilst on my laptop

performance may be due to traffic bursts from the xbox. One thing you can try is to decrease the encryption to a low setting as a test and see what happens. You also may want a higher powered router if you want to get the best out of the experience. Try to guage your speed and data rate over the wireless and if possible compare with a friends setup.

Call your ISP and have them do a line test.

from your PC, go to www.speedtest.net and perform a speed and latency test.

Give this info to your ISP.

How do I connect my xbox 360 wirelessly to my DSl 2WIRE?

Yes you can. My neighbor is piggy backing off my gateway 2wire router from att. He doesn't have any lag except for late at night. Other than that it rocks. Just set up your security.

Att 2wire wireless and dlink

the only thing you need for connecting 360 to wireless is an Internet connection, an 802.11G wireless router, and a wifi adapter that connects to your 360. They have these at walmart or any gaming store. I suggest giving your 2-Wire back to ATT! NOT QUALITY. Especially for gaming.
I myself prefer my box to be hard wired as lag is far less. BUT..for wifi
Get a Linksys Router and XBox brand wifi adapter for 360. Also google xbox connect. Instead of paying for LIVE

Two words:
I'm sorry.

My parents use satellite as their primary internet connection. We have had a heck of a time getting a router to work in their configuration because of the lag involved in the satellite communication. In a nutshell, but the time the data gets requested and sent back to your computer through the satellite your computer got tired of waiting and "times out" or give up on that data. You can try to purchase a wireless router and connect it up to the satellite modem and see how it works, but I wouldn't hold my breath (the best we've been able to do is get it work 1/2 of the time).

By the way because of the lag of satellite communication, online gaming with your PS3 would difficult, but not impossible. My younger brothers use my parent's connection for their Wii & Xbox.

I just with the ISPs would get on the ball and roll fiber to everyone's house. I have to say I love my fiber connection!

Problems

First off, you're probably just lagging because Wireless adapters throttle performance from the get go. Depending on the placement or the bandwidth from your ISP, you could be lagging using Wireless. Make sure your ports are forwarded for Live. Next, your problem with the Red Ring of Death could be many problems, but it may have to do a lot with the video output problem you're experiencing that you mentioned (having to restart it to see anything). Personally, I'd send it in to Microsoft as a "Red Ring of Death" problem and have it repaired for free. You could also look up the Towel Trick if you get outrageously desperate.
