My techwood tv no longer recognises the DVD player through hdmi cable

We originally thought was a problem with the bluray player so bought a new one. When we connected the new one the same problem happens. On our TV you have to change the source to connect and when you do that and turn the bluray on the initial bluray screen comes up then dies and you get a no video available screen. We have changed the hdmi cable as well but no luck. We have tried a normal dvd player connected through a scart and this plays ok, we have a freesat box connected through the hdmi on the tv and that works fine. I tried to ring Techwood but the TV is just out of warranty and their tech support wouldnt speak to me.

Should also say the old Bluray was a grundig and the new one is a sony. Ad because its Bluray you have to use the hdmi cable not scart.

SOURCE: Distorted color on hdmi output

If you haven't already stumbled across the fix: I just had the exact same problem after about eights months of casual use. Unplugging the DVD player for about 15 minutes and then plugging it back in "solved" the problem. Until next time it happens, anyway.

SOURCE: Connected DVD Player to TV using HDMI cable doesn't work

Have you changed the input of your TV unit to AV1, AV2 or component...or what ever? If so and yet the problem prevails, then try to Plug the AV cable to the input of your Cable Box, if it has so.

Why does my tv not recognise the hdmi cables tried differant cables ?

If you have tried a DVD player & cable/satelite box (2 different sources) in all your HDMI inputs & still get nothing, then your I/O-Main PCB is most likely defective. That's assuming the cables you tried are known to be good.

Have you tried changing the output video settings of the Blueray player from NTSC to PAL or vice versa? Also check that Blueray has HDCP turned on or off, depending on your TV set.

No hdmi funktion to my new LED TV.

Most likely the output from the Pioneer is not compatible with the TV.
Try resetting the output by holding Stop (on the pioneers front) and press the Open/close button. This will reset the output signal. Also, if the harddrive in the Pioneer is defect, the HDMI signal will not output.

No longer getting video feed through Home Theatre receiver

HDMI ports 5 and 6 on the back of tv no longer are working. (We had a series of thunder storms so don't know if that is how they got damaged or if it was something else) but moved HDMI input cable to HDMI port 4 on tv and everything is working again. Service call placed for warranty service on tv to repair bad ports.

We have a wharfedale dvdr24hdmi player recorder but the hddvd we have purchased will not play.A note inside the dvd disc suggests we consult yourselves for a firmware or software update.

The wharfedale dvdr24 is an upscaling dvd player and not a hd dvd player which is why it wont recognise the disc you are trying to play.

HDMI just means that it connects to your tv via an hdmi cable, so unfortunatley you'll need to buy a hd dvd player to play your disc.

Connecting to lcd tv with HDMI cable

you will probably need to tell you DVD you want to use the HDMI output so it will send via HDMI. You'll have to hook it up to the original tv so you can see DVD menus when the player is in Stop mode or there is no DVD in.
