How does Windows XP Mode work?

Windows XP Mode works in two ways-both as a virtual operating system and as a way to open programs within Windows 7. It runs in a separate window on the Windows 7 desktop, much like a program, except it's a fully-functional, fully-licensed version of Windows XP. In Windows XP Mode, you can access your physical computer's CD/DVD drive, install programs, save files, and perform other tasks as if you were using a computer running Windows XP.

When you install a program in Windows XP Mode, the program appears in both the Windows XP Mode list of programs and in the Windows 7 list of programs, so you can open the program directly from Windows 7.

Is there any driver, program or software fix that will allow me to load my "Intel Create & Share Software on my Windows 7 Dell Inspiron 530?

The Intel Create & Share was written for Windows 2K and XP and not updated. The workaround is to use a computer (second machine, dual boot or virtual) with XP installed.

If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate or update to one of those versions, you may be able to run a virtual XP computer for free. Download from Microsoft and install in order the Virtual PC program and the XP mode software. Install the Intel Create & Share program in XP mode as if it is your only OS. (Note: you can't have hardware installed on the virtual and real computer at the same time. To share files you will need to save them to external media (USB or optical disc).)

Other virtual computer programs are VMWare and Parallels. For the other options, you will need a licensed version of the older Windows OS.

I hope this helps.

Freedownloads how to get your downloads to flashdrive so i may install to desktop that is not on line with xp servicepro 2

Assuming you already have a flashdrive plugged into the computer with an internet connection, go download a program you want, such as Google Chrome. When it says "Save" or "Run", choose save and save it to your desktop. Once the download is complete, and before installing the program onto the current computer, open the start menu and go to my computer. Plug in your flash drive and it should appear in the My Computer window. Open your flash drive and move the window such that your file on your desktop is visible. Now click and drag the file on your desktop to the flash drive. Once the transfer is complete, remove your flash drive and insert it into the computer that does not have an internet access. Then go to my computer, and locate the flash drive and open it. Move the window such that the desktop in in sight. Click and drag the file from the flash drive to your desktop. Then remove the flash drive and install the program.
Hope this helped, Nathan Taylor

When I restart my computer, it comes to the screen showing me the option to start in safe mode, start windows normall, etc. When I choose to start windows normally, the computer then restarts itself again...

restart >save mode >choice for NO> restore privious date for good working (choice that date vfrom witch pc was running well.again if not run ,think virus affected.should format all the drive .

IFYOU THINK YOU WANT THE DATA SHOULD DOWNLOAD, HBCD BOOT CD FROM FRESHWAP.NET .START BY HBCD CHOICE FOR LIVE XP ,SHOW ALL HIDDEN FOLDER CHECK OFF,EXTENTION FILE & PROTECTED OPERATING SYSTEM.OPEN ALL DRIVE BY EXPLORE SIMPLY DRAG THE UNNECESSARY HIDDEN FILE &DELETE .MIND IT DONT FORMAT THE C DRIVE .FOR IDENTYFICATION GO MY COMPUTER R CLICK >MANAGE >DISK MANAGEMENT>LOOK THE DRIVE LETTER WHERE YOUR OS INSTALLED. COPPY ALL DATA FOR PASTE FROM ANOTHER DRIVE TO ANOTHER AND FORMAT DRIVE ONE AFTER ONE . YOU DELETE THE RECYLER (IF NTFS) AND SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION
NOW RESTART GO FOR SAVE MODE AND RESTORE THE PRIVIOUS DATE IF NOT RUN SHOULD INSTALL THE OS AGAIN .

Can get on internet! all my programs end in .ink so can't opened anything. when try to download from internet i can but the it comes up windows don't know this extention. then i can't opened. thanks

When double clicking the xp_exe_fix.reg file, windows asks what to use to open it. Go to select from list, then browse and find C:\Windows\regedit.exe, select it and click ok, then double click xp_exe_fix.reg again and it'll ask you if you want to add the info to the registry. Click yes and reboot your computer. You should notice that by going Start->my computer->C:\ and opening any one of the folders, all of the programs appear normal again and will function correctly.If your desktop icons still have the *.lnk extension, run the linkfile_fix.reg by double clicking it, then reboot again. make sure everything seems back to normal and your all done!

the specific locations for the files:
xp.exe.fix
linkfile.fix

Note: if winzip/winrar or whatever isn't working on your machine, either extract the files on another computer or associate the zip files with the appropriate program exe (winzip/winrar) as done for the xp_exe_fix.reg file.

It will not work with windows 7. Is there

Here is how to Install them so they work. Download your XP driver you wish to install. If it's in a zip/rar file then extract it to your desktop. You should have a simple .exe file sitting on your desktop to install the drivers, as normal for XP. Right click the .exe file and select "Properties". Then select the tab called "Compatibility" Now check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Make sure "Windows XP Service Pack 2" is highlighted. Now apply the settings and run the installer. This should work for most drivers, but not all This should all be done in Administrator Mode. & done to BOTH the install .exe and the programs run .exe

I see that many, many people have problems making their "Old" XP Programs & or Drivers work under windows 7. Here is how to Install them so they work. Download your XP program, driver you wish to install. This should work for most programs & drivers, but not all

Does dskchck & freezes if cancelled goes black & only cursor show

That's a common problem with Vista...you'll need to restart your computer. Start back up in safe mode...by pressing F8 at the boot screen. then restart your computer normally through the start menu. After this I would find a good copy of Windows XP Professional and back up my data, and install XP over vista.

NV4 Display Driver has stopped working normally.

Create a folder on your desktop & name it NVIDIA driver. Click on the NVIDIA link provided below;
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Use Option 2 & download the latest driver software into the NVIDIA driver folder you created.
Do not install new graphics driver software over top of older graphics driver software!
Open control panel than open Add/Remove programs icon. Find the current NVIDIA graphics software & uninstall it. Restart your system if windows request it.
Download & run the free program named RegCure from the next link;
http://www.pctuneuptips.com/recommends/clean/?gclid=CL2RiIrTmpICFSFMGgodODIPzg
This will clean your system. Than install the NVIDIA software. Restart your system even if windows does not want you too.
Lastly, check windows for updates.

Cheers!
Mike
